Well, I just got home (well a few hours ago) from having my neck bones fused. Nothing like a hard plastic collar for a few week!!!!

I've been scarce lately as-is, economy and all, but maybe with a little healing time (read - time off work) I can attept to work on a few projects.

Note to self....pain from a herniated disk IS worse than post surgery pain...so far anyways.

While I was laid up...I had the Morphine "button"....was kinda neat to tune out the world at the touch of a button.

They have me on Norco now, I guess its like Vicodon of some type.

Take it easy as long as you can. I had 2 levels fused in 1984 and understand the kind of pain you were experiencing. Things will get better sooner than you think.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I had 2 levels also fused, C6-C7 was severely herniated (causing all the pain and issues), and C5-C6 had a bone spur growing inside it. Wasnt causing any problems...yet, but in a few years, I would be in the same boat.

Biggest PITA right now is attempting to take a shower... :oops:

Sheesh Joey!

Interesting choice of bones. I would have tried for a finger, or at the least an arm. Neck seems a bit more extreme if you ask me.

Hope you heal quickly!

..::insert job rant::..

I hope I recover quickly also...just found out, I only get paid for 5 days? 20+ years, I havent called in sick in over 3 years!! 5 days? Have I mentioned I have been salary for 15 of the 20+?

Well, I am heading over to the State Disability site to fill out paperwork to recoup some of my wages.

Wow, glad to see loyalty and dedication get rewarded.

Hope you are feeling better...

2 months ago I was out for 2 weeks from appendix surgery, state doesn't pay for the first week, then they paid the 2nd week.

No paid sick days.

Before the surgery, I have not had a sick day in over 2 years. When I do the math, if I had been paying AFLAC all this time, they would have done very well.....

I would rather not get paid a week then have to pay AFLAC.
