A peek into the Harris garage

Post by JHarris »

I've had several requests to see some of my cars, past and present. Here are a few that are in the garage right now. I will add more once I have more time and sunlight for pictures. I will put a caption with each photo to explain what it is.

Here's my prized Pro Radiant and the Yokomo I ran at the 2003 worlds. I got the car about a week before the race. I hated it so much that after the race I stripped the electronics out of it and threw it in the attic without even cleaning it. That's highly unusual for me considering how much of a neat freak I am!

I had this re-anodized light gold just like it came. Note the difference between the shocks and the rear brace. Match for 1st generation RC10 chassis??

The offset of the rear wheels appears to be correct, but the offset on the rims is wrong--how did you get this to work out?

And, nice to see finished pics

It's not perfect but it's also not enough of a difference to notice on the track. Ideally someone would make an arm that's 1/8" longer between the shock mounting hole and the carrier. Someone told me before that there is such an animal out there somewhere.

Trinity xxx rear hubs, or Trinity B4 rear hubs? And are they Kyo rear rims? Do they use a hex?

Racers Edge .5 B4 hubs and Associated B4 wheels. The front uses B4 caster blocks, steering knuckles and axles. The CVD's are B44 rear. I had the bones chromed.

Wow, gorgeous cars. I had no idea you were such a pro and neat freak. Where did the blue and purple cars (chassis and matching color parts) come from? Were those available (I have seen the blue and green RC10 chassis on eBay for big money)?

Also the shorty bumper in the front, where do I get one?

My cousin works at a place that does chrome, zinc, copper coating, teflon coating, anodize and hard anodize. They do a lot more, but you get the idea. He did my blue car, the purple car, a hard black car I'm working on and the light gold on my Radiant rear brace.

The Racers Edge rear hubs came in natural aluminum. I had them anodized along with everything else aluminum on the car. That included the servo mounts, front axles, rear wheel spacers, all screws, nuts, bolts, shock collars and even the thumb screws for the battery hold down.
