Re: Firebrand Tires for buggies on street
They are buggy tyres, sold over here as Fastrax Arrow. The link is a set of four, the fronts are only about 5mm narrower than the rears as they are 4wd wheels. The tyres are good for asphalt, but the wheels are a bit fragile though and have been known to break easily.

Re: Spoked wheels for modern buggies?
This is what keeps me from just using Turbo Scorpion wheels on newer buggies, they did work quite well on the RC10 though. I used to run the Turbo Scorpion wheels on my Ultima and RC10, they look great on everything. Until the Iconic Revival introduced a scrutineering box to check sizes and found i...

Re: Spoked wheels for modern buggies?
I bought a set of those wheels & tires years ago, they're all knockoffs meant to fit HSP/Redcat Racing cars. While they are 12mm hex, they are too big a diameter for vintage RC cars and the wheels are all high positive offset. The rears will rub on your shocks or other chassis parts without usi...

Re: Spoked wheels for modern buggies?
The JC Racing Egress wheels are 8mm from the front of the wheel to the flat of the hex drive. I think their Kyosho wheels it's around 12-15mm as I know they push Tamiya cars outside the width limit.

Re: Spoked wheels for modern buggies?
The JC Racing Schumacher wheels use a 9/16" hex, back then Schumachers cars were an odd mix of metric and imperial sizes. Obviously the Tamiya and Kyosho wheels are 12mm hex, the Kyosho ones have a large offset, the Tamiya ones have less. I should be able to measure the Tamiya ones I have in th...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I'm not sure where people keep coming up that it is thinner and have not seen any proof as such. I suspect it's people who are new to vintage RC, or used to have one years ago and won't buy an old original. They open the 40th and find the chassis is light and flexes and assume the one they had memo...

If anyone wants a CC there's loads of them for sale in the UK and Europe. We've also got plenty of JJ Ultimas and 60th Mids available as well.

Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.
How exactly does the dual slipper sheet change the settings? This doesn't really tell me if adding that optional slipper sheet will reinforce the reinforced slipper clutch, or if it's what you buy if you're going to stick with a brushed motor. I'm probably going to stick my old 240ST in there &...

Not one run, a normal production item. Over here we are already getting a second batch of cars. Still no clear spares though.

Re: Started something else today...
This is a bit simpler than your last project  I think every vintage 1/12th collector must have one of these by now. I think Massimo must have found a shed full of them at Mantua Models, the number of these I have seen for sale over the years. There are two options for folding polycarbonate, col...

Good to know, a lot of these pieces of RC history end up being sold off or thrown away. Of course there's plenty of us who would volunteer if she ever wants them restoring.

Re: OPTIMA MID '87 WC Worlds Spec Ltd Ed.
Kyosho do give you both a brushed and brushless recommendation though. The brushed motor recommendation is to suggest you buy Kyoshos own brand brushed motor rather than a standard one from elsewhere. It's only a 30 turn brushed motor, because that's what Kyosho made to sell as a motor to go in the ...
