With the amount of these that are being purchased, there will be a flood of build threads coming. We don't want the new car to bury the o.g. new builds, replicas, restorations, etc., that already take place in our buggy forum. So the best thing to...
I wrote up a list of differences between the old and new RC10 parts. I'm running it by the engineer in charge to double-check. I'm hoping I'll be able to post it here when approved.
Those of you who have already spotted differences by the photos...

Stamped aluminum parts are. Not sure on the towers.
Here are some pics that had been sent to me earlier, and are now public which is why I am posting them at this time as I was just notified that it is on their webpage, of one of the bodies & wings I painted up for Associated prior to the...

Anyone else have a source for OOS JConcepts parts besides the bay?
What’s everyone using as a battery hold down? Just got my 2s hard case and while it fits the bulkhead just fine , the battery hold down won’t work. I suppose i can use some washers to gain clearance. Is there any other solution? I’m excited to get...

Dumb question I’m sure , but I’ve been out of game for a while . I plan on running my 40th as is and with vintage electronics. I’m going with a Novak cyclone and twister pocket rocket 27t motor and some 2s lipo. What’s a good pinion size? Thanks

Thanks all for additional info. No grass running. Gonna be street and some dirt . I’ll be getting low voltage alarm and will keep tabs on run time .
After the Classic Clear, we now have this 40th anniversary kit.

Just noticed that one of my rear stub axles is NOT threaded while attempting to install the rear tire lock nut.
3 of the axles are threaded, this one is smooth.
I opened an AE service request for a new axle and roll pin... will keep everyone...
Little giveaway for owners of the 40th anniversary kits to see who has the highest kit number *edit- AND LOWEST NUMBER*. Since AE won't tell us the total number made we will have to see if we can approximate it by collecting numbers ourselves. I'm...

I just recieved number 3710 yesterday. I have one more but I'm leaving it sealed.
Since the question regarding the color of the nylon parts for the 40th kit came up, I'm revisiting a question I have had for a long time. First, the 40th kit parts are definitely a shade whiter than old kits ever were - albeit not as big a...
Hope this isn't a repost but there's new turnbuckle set for the RC10:
I hope they make a set that fits the wide arm RC10... RCPS style!

I found a source for Lunsford / RCPS style turnbuckles fitting RC10. I just wish they also made thicker turnbuckles in the same style for vintage racers.
This build started with a standard RC10CC, a banana'd nose plate, and a worn B stamp chassis.

A blue chassis, fluorescent green spur gear, hot pink gasket, Reed Mr. motor AND a Hydra-Drive?... so much cool in such a small space... very neat build. 👍
I picked up an almost RTR Worlds car a few weeks before Christmas. This one is going to become a modernized replica of Masami's rc10 he used to win the '94 Florida Winterchamps.

Just saw your YouTube video of this car and it was awesome! We’ll done, love to see the details up close. Thank you!
Thanks. The video I put up yesterday was actually of this car:
This will be my first time building a new in box rc10 in about 30 years. I am building this up with a graphite chassis I picked up and didn't have a specific build for.

I have located a body for this. I’ll leave it like this for a bit and get the body on it when it’s time for a decor change.
Not a huge fan of the new design, sorry to say. I'll cut it out and...

The one you are calling a Cadillac is actually a Viper body, completely different and two generations newer than the original Protech. The Cadillac era could have been a Protech, Protech II or Viper but the Protech II and Viper were on CE and Team...
So last week, I made a deal with a fellow racer that was looking to move some re-release items. I didn't think it would be that much, but it turned out to be 1 complete car minus a body and wheels, and maybe 75-80% to build...
Well I came home today to find this box on the doorstep... I just ordered it and can't believe it' already here. I'm in the middle of 2 builds so it's going to sit for a bit.

Cool. I like the vintage looking tape. Some people are still hunting for the $319 deals. Care to share where you purchased it from?
We are attending The SEMA Show this year and using that as the starting point for the pending 60th Anniversary of Associated Electrics (1964) and 40th Anniversary of the RC10 (1984)!
This one will take a little while since I'm lacking quite a lot of parts. Starting off with a bunch of parts I have left from all of these rere kits I've been throwing together.
So this one is going to be a modernized replica of Masami's car that...

It's interesting that the Masami 1993 car looks like a trimmed and tweaked production car and the earlier 1989 and 1991 are basically specialty prototypes.
The trick item for the 93 Worlds seems to have been the milled tub. Some guys had them,...
I shuffled some parts around and now can move forward on another one of these. I couldn't do the chassis mods i typically like to do because they were already redone in blue. The only thing I did do was move the servo forward to get a little more...

Here's a little teaser for my upcoming Worlds rerelease build. The car will be here tomorrow, but I still have a number of things to get before I'll be able to run it. Hoping to have it built and running by April. I'm building it to...
I would love to see Team Associated do a B2 or even a B3 re-release. Does anyone think it's possible. B2 was a world champ, and considering how hard it is to find original parts now, may be the best sales opportunity. Would they wait until 2025?...

That's like what the 3rd time their molds were lost ? You'd think they would learn  Or it's an excuse so people quit asking.
The RC10 Worlds Car rerelease (especially NIB) has skyrocketed in terms of collectibility if one uses price as a good measure. 1200 and 2450 USD were the most recent sales for NIB kits on ebay. That's no joke...and I don't think it is going back...

I'm not surprised. As Gen X gets a little older, we're looking at the things from our past that we had, or wish we had, and are in a place to afford a little nostalgia. RC was huge in the 80's and 90's, so there's a bunch of us. The funny thing is,...

So maybe it’s time for Associated to put that beauty out! Royalties to you for such a nice job. I’d have one.
The RC10 Worlds release had some issues, and I experienced them as well (transmission case, weird idler gear tolerances, and neon nylon-colored materials). However, very few reported my particular issue with the CVD's . I had a glaring issue with my...

I have about a dozen of the Rere Worlds cars, and I think 6 were built from kits that I myself opened. 2 of those kits had this problem. This seemed to be more of a later production run issue, which is possibly why you didn't hear much about it....
Been a while since I cleaned up my regular club racer ReRe Worlds car, so I did a full tear down and detail & clean up. Added the JC Racing white soft arms, they had to take a coffee bath and they are super bright white...wow....
I have been kinda interested in a Re Re, but they just don't come around often, and I haven't been able valuate a kit that I am looking at. I know it is worth to me what I am willing to pay for it, but I am having a hard time finding comparables to...

So, I recently found another sealed classic kit on Ebay made an offer of $675 and he accepted. Should be here tomorrow. Now that I will have 2 I am definitely thinking I'm going to build one. Probably save whichever has the nicer box.

So, I've gotten a re-re-released RC10 for my son to go alongside my gold pan. However, his car is throwing the dogbone side of the drive shafts on the transmission side. I remember converting my gold pan to pure dogbones in the 80s, but sincerely...

That seems to have done the trick. The clearance isn't as much as I'd like, but the dogbone stays within the cup through an entire turn when the arm is as low as it can be. We romped on it a bit and tried to force the issue, but were unable to cause...
Here's as much as I can do at present. The bearings are still in the post. Plans are to add turnbuckles and better bellcranks plus do the RCCA outdrive mod on the six gear. I'll be dropping in a mild brushless system too. Can't wait to run it. :D
I got a re-re Worlds back when they came out. There was an issue with the transmission, remember? I bought a bunch of replacement parts back then and I don't recall what the specific issue was. What was the exact problem and what was the solution? I...

The main problem was the b4 topshaft was machined wron so the slipper back plate pushed up against the motor plate and rubbed. And the gear mesh wasn't very good with worlds stealth case so everyone was switching to the regular 6565 case.
I posed a question over at Tamiyaclub about whether or not AE would/could bring back the RC10 Classic. I noted that according to Shawn Ireland, some of the molds had been lost overseas when the factory using them went bankrupt. Supposedly, they...

The worlds suffered top shaft issues among other things. The aluminum 8/32 screws that came in both the kits are crap and will snap with the slightest of torque. The worlds kits lingered in stores and were eventually heavily discounted.
Ok, I believe I'm done buying Worlds rere's now.
I've had this build in mind ever since the rere's started. In my opinion, AE kinda dropped the ball never offering white wide track front arms. Between the Classic and worlds parts, it...
Hey,I'm new to this forum. I have some questions: Is the re-re chassis for a Stealth Transmission? Will Trans case 6565 fit the re-re chassis? What is the difference between the 6565,and the 6564?

I recently picked up a vintage RC10 team car that was upgraded by prior owner to use the worlds re-re 3/16 CVD axle, with the re-re hub carrier and bearings. I noticed there was tremendous radial play (or wiggle) of the stub axle in the carrier. I...

I'm restoring my first RC car, an RC10 classic. I have lost one of the rear dogbones and cannot find one anywhere online. Does anyone know where I can find one or a CVD upgrade that will work?
Sooooooo, when you get 3 of the kits and none of them are being built stock, you tend to have a lot of parts left over. And of course, you just have to do something with them.
I finished 2nd yesterday in the classic class with my Tamiya Manta Ray. Had a great battle for the lead, but caught the pipe with like 40-45 sec left and couldn't catch back up. I'll update that build thread later.
