Just ordered this kit from AMain, also picked up another 1060 HW ESC for it. The manual says 30 to 22 turns brushed motor for this model. The LeMans 490, 30 T motor, is what's shown being used:
I bought this motor for $20, and can't find any...

I could see swapping wheels and bodies just for fun... Kyosho wheels, stock style dune buggy... dropped with a different Beetle...
Just like they did with the Dirt Master/RB5 now they are bringing back the ZX5 as a Lazer SB Dirt Cross. The wheels bother me a little, the rest- I like it.

I’m more worried about that turd of a body🤮
Like the fact h pattern tires are back on the production list though👍🏼
they are trying for a retro look, and while its not my favorite at least it isnt that cab forward nonsense. The OG zx5 body was...
Yes, there is a slight resemblance.
Actually, I wouldn't mind owning that Pinto in your photo. I've been binge watching The Barn Find Hunter and after roughly 170 episodes, I've discovered that I like wagons. :D
So after building the JJ I decided to do a bit of tinkering to it to better suit my home track, RCM, which is high grip grey carpet.
I used the Turbo Scorpion wheels with JC fuzz bite tires. Front wheels i cut off the inside bead and left the inner...

I have this kit under my desk for a while. I was my Xmas gift of 2021, and it is awaiting there I have the envy to build it. And it seem it was time. I have a bug envy to build a kit without thinking today...

This release from Kyosho is just awesome. I bought 2 kits...one to keep sealed nib and one to build as a tribute shelfer with upgrades and vintage electronics. Akira Kogawa’s Kyosho build video using titanium screws was an inspiration and will be...
I cant find a legendary series Javelin at the moment, is it possible to convert a Optima mid turbo using the roll cage? Is there anything else that I would need? Many thanks.
Last post
For the rereleases it's easy, depending on how accurate you want the conversion.
You need the OT247 cage set and OT252 wing in the colour of your choice, and the OT251 roll bar, OT250 wing mount. The driver figure is the same as the Turbo....
Where does the Beetle fall in the Scorpion-Tomahawk-Beetle spectrum? It wasn't on my radar at all, but a NIB re-re popped up for sale locally for a fair price.
Is it literally a Scorpion with a Beetle body? Were there changes and performance...

Is it literally a Scorpion with a Beetle body?
Mechanically? Yes.
There are some cosmetic changes. Wheel design, plastic colors, etc.
As for the Turbo Scorpion, I don't think that there are many mechanical differences between them. At least,...
Anyone done one of these. My ultima re-re is far from stock was thinking about getting one of these to make it a mid.
Was wondering if the transmission internals from the rear motor transmission will fit in the ot255 gear box. Not sure what other...

Ok. I have a lot of the parts to do it just have to do it. Maybe if they still available after the holidays. I was able to get a rc10cc so my discretionary fund is depleted at the moment.

I belive the Fibre-Lyte chassis is for the original mid, does anyone know if the ReRe gearboxes have the same hole pattern as the original where they get bolted to the chassis?

Yes, the rere and the original have the same hole...
Are there any weak spots or suggested spares to pick up for the Ultima rerelease kit while they are available? (spurs gears, arms, uprights, anything, etc.)
I've read the chassis could at times bend. Is this only in severe crash situations? Would a...

Extra front end parts are always a good idea.. front arms, bulkhead, hinge pins..etc. The plastic spur gear too..
Today, I started something... For the small story, I had a Kyosho 1/12 back in the eighties, it was 4WD, there was a chain, and a one way at the front, and a prototype body... I did not have a proper place to run it at that time, so it was sold...

Found a Fantom re re from Japan, its on the way. Curious what esc others are using. The Lemans 240S is really heavy. I want to keep a vintage kyosho theme, so I guess I'll stick with the lemans esc but its like a lead weight.
While I'm waiting to restart the Marui Hunter project, I decided to start the build of the Javelin which was sitting under my desk for the last few months...
The opened box is as usual nice and clean. Almost tempted to keep it this way,...

Waiting on Javelin on backorder from Amain. Went ahead and purchased lemans 240s esc, it just arrived. Man this esc is heavy! I want to keep everything kyosho, but the weight!
Anyone else seen or heard that the long wheel base mid is next on the list?, apparently there was a toy fair in Japan resently with kyosho having 1 on display.

EXO Designs swb classic version chassis & Rc Screwz stainless screw set. Pretty well stock other than universal drive shafts and a Kyosho HD mid gear and a set of Kyosho titanium turn buckles.
I'm having a terrible time finding a set of street tires - foams or radials - that'd be a direct fit on a Turbo Optima re-release. Ideally I'd be able to find a set of pre-mounted tires/rims all ready to go, but all I can seem to find are really...

Great looking build. I just got my first rc10 after 30 plus years of wanting one now I’m thinking about something 4 wheel drive and this is on my list
Which 3 cars? Also are the Beetle bodys pre cut or finished?
They are pre-cut. The window masks are kind of a pain, as they are made from paper tape. They are easier to tear than the vinyl masks that most bodies have.
Since the weather continues to be garbage, I decided to go ahead and build this one. While none of it was hard, several things were more aggravating than I thought.

Some small adjustment is available, the end links, are hollow, you can move them up and down a small bit, for tuning.
