Re: Dumas Boats - Model Boating Kits

That's cool! :) the SK-Daddle boats have a good look to them. The only Dumas boat I currently own is one of their little 12" Cabin Cruisers. It's shown on page 20 of this catalog.

I scanned the documentation back some years ago as I bought one I've yet to use: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=44769

Latrax BA-006 Air Wing Kit Assembly Diagram

Here's an obscure item. A wing kit for the Latrax LTX-40 Corvette and possibly the Firebird. It's from the late '70s to early '80s time frame.

Dumas Boats - Model Boating Kits

I'm not sure of the date on this catalog, but on the back cover there's a 1086 so I'm guessing that's October 1986.

Re: Quik King Cab Story...

Those Hi-Lux Monster Racer wheels are indeed a perfect match. That's a great looking truck. :) I was thinking the same thing when I got the wheels but I have the hilux and the wheel are a bright red these are a dark burgundyish color. I don't know if you can tell in the pictures. Ooohhh that's inte...

I dig them too!

Pargu gets the credit! I reached out via eBay and he confirmed he made them.

I knew it. It's funny how between the designs, and machining process used, you can tell who made certain wheels by those identifying characteristics.

Re: Quik King Cab Story...

Can confirm. The body on my King Cab is all cracked and broken. I forget exactly what the story is but I believe Tamiya used too thin of lexan on the originals.

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

Thanks for the detailed account of things! It almost made me feel like I was there. :) It seemed like my kind of an event. Garden tractor and mini rod are both fairly new classes so they're pretty popular at the moment. Garden tractor though badly needs an official rule change to allow pumpkin...

ACE Hardware & Hobbies - Parts & Pricing Guide Vol.2

This catalog doesn't contain a date, but I believe it's from the early '90s. ACE Hardware touts itself as being America's largest gas hobby supplier at the time. Who knew?!

Re: How good are new bearings

Due to my puller builds, I became pretty obsessed with bearings in my quest to use the best of everything. What I found is that there are American manufacturers that still produce miniature bearings, but with a catch. They either don't sell to the general public, or you have to buy in large quantiti...
