Hi everyone - love your builds!
Hey everyone, I'm pretty excited to join your forums! I really like seeing all the builds you guys do, and some are pretty extreme and very well made. I've been working on my own "vintage-ish" builds and the threads I've stumbled on here have been a great inspiration. I'm not sure how much...

Mid Motor Rustler Build
Click here for the latest mid motor rustler design _______________ Hi everybody! Over the past two years or so I've been having some fun with the 2wd Traxxas platform. It all started when I got burned out on racing. I took a break from racing for a while and when I got back into it I wanted to do i...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
The home made CF really needs a thread of its own to do it justice ! Thanks Dadio! I never actually thought about that. I just see it as another step in the process. If I ever finish this project maybe I'll make a post about the CF! I got a couple more things done on the car throughout the we...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
I know it's been a while but I'm still working on this, slow and steady. I've fallen deeper down the carbon fiber rabbit hole and I might be having more fun learning how to make CF than the actual car! Since my last post I've experimented with putting the CF layup between mylar sheets to get a matte...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
Slow and steady wins the race - but maybe not at the pace I'm working! I've spent even more time trying to get my CF process down and I'm still struggling, though at this point I think I've exhausted all possible ways to do it wrong so hopefully my next attempt is a smashing success! I did manage to...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
Big update today! As I predicted in my last post, I ran out of wrong ways to make carbon fiber! It's been a long and frustrating process, but I got it figured out now. Over the weekend I managed to make a ~3mm plate of carbon fiber with only minor cosmetic imperfections that was big enough for...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
So now that I've got a handle on making carbon fiber I decided to take a quick detour and play around with suspension arms because for some reason I'm not happy unless I'm struggling to solve a problem. Anyway it's always bugged me that 1) the front arms are much shorter than the rear arms and 2) no...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
I'm bringing back white arms, baby! And they look especially good with that grey bulkhead swapped out for the black one. http://i.imgur.com/winr7TPh.jpg So here's a couple key points from the last few days 1) After doing about three different prototype designs I've got the design pretty much locked ...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
After two weeks I'm finally finished with what was originally intended to be a "short, quick project" that turned out to be anything but. Most everything else I do on my CNC is simple flat piece machining, like cutting out the shock towers from carbon fiber. Suspension arms are entirely di...

Re: Bandit performance potential
If you're a little bonkers like I am then there's plenty of performance to be had from the 2wd Traxxas platform. You can check out my thread on my mid motor project if you want. Looking at your location there's even chance you might have seen it in person - I've had this car out a few times at vario...

Re: Mid motor Bandit project
Great build so far! I'm jealous of your excellent machining, I couldn't machine something that nice to save my life. Can't wait to see your progress.

Re: Flysky Noble Radio System
I have one, great radio. Build quality is good, and not just "good for a Chinese radio" but genuinely good. Performance is great, too. Low latency with tons of useful adjustment, and a really well laid out user interface.

Re: Today, Right Now, Your Most Fun RC Surface Vehicle?
I've been having way too much fun with my Losi Mini-B. It drives so much like a 1/10 buggy but with the benefit that I can build a track for it in my basement. I've installed completely new electronics - a Savox mini servo, a sensored 24mm motor, hobbywing 10bl60sd esc, and a Noble NB4 radio system....

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
I'm back, baby! I recently bought myself an Ender 3 V2 3d printer and this weekend was my first time using it. These things are so freaking cool, why did I sleep on them for so long? Anyway, I've been kicking around the idea of designing an entire RC car and that pushed me to buy a 3d printer. I fig...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler Build
Man I get distracted with projects so easily. Instead of working on my car design I got sidetracked with organizing the tools I use for wrenching on my cars. http://i.imgur.com/lqTjubTl.mp4 That's a gif - if it doesn't play you should be able to click it to watch the clip. Anyway I have a set of MIP...
