Re: RC10B4 Cool Blue Anodized Project

Thank you for the suggestions. I have been very lucky with this project. I have an Avante MK2 and realized that the Tamiya shocks were the same length as the B4, and the color matched the color of the suspension arms! The plastic associated ball cups inserts also perfectly inside the shock cap. I al...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler - V2

And it's basically done now! I redesigned and re-printed the transmission case and it's much better now. I reinforced the area that broke and I figured out a design trick to really help with fitting bearings into 3d printed parts - add a small notched cutout on any bearing recess and use the slicer ...

Re: B4 front hex conversion using non-Associated parts

I know that original RC10, 10T, T2, and GT all had larger hinge pins than the B4. I think that the B2 and B3 had the larger ones as well.

Re: Converting to metric fasteners

So I ran into an RC Screwz kit for the B4.2 in metric sizes. I’m under the impression that the RC10B series didn’t make the switch to metric until the B5, and I vaguely remember using imperial drivers on my FT B4.2 (don’t remember for sure). Dumb question but will the metric screws bolt right on? T...

Re: Converting to metric fasteners

They are close, but not a direct replacement. If you are going to do it, best get a M3 Tap and tap the threads or if you have worn plastics you could helicoil them to a m3 thread.

Re: Converting to metric fasteners

Metal parts like the motor plate won't thread unless you re-tapped them to 3mm. The upper shock mounts and steel balls in the shock ends won't fit 3mm unless you change them, and any through hole will be tight and need to be opened up.

What do they offer for the 5-40 threaded screws? 4mm?

Look what I found today

Going though my old pitbox I found a untouched b4 sticker set including window masks.
Is there already a scan of these in the group? Otherwise, how would I go about getting a good scan to upload?

Re: SAE/Imperial Hex driver sizes for Team Associated 1/10

5/64 isnt used for anything really but the stealth diff screw- however it works great as a 2.0mm driver for metric screws. Also a lot of pinions these days are metric, so a 1.5mm is handy. You will want a 2.5mm for the motor screws. For the 6 gear trans you will also want a good .035 (.9mm works wel...

Re: 870c ReRe?

Jc racing makes wheels that fit this car and are 2.2" so you can run modern tires. We had a vintage race recently on a fairly aggressive track and a guy ran his new rerelease and broke an arm. Not sure if it was a super hard hit or if the plastic isn't the greatest so use caution on these guys.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

B4 electronics installed, finished except for the body. Not a fan of my receiver choice, and don't have the correct transmitter for it, so that may change. Went with a Reedy Ti 10x2, Yokomo esc and KO Propo RSx2 servo. While trying to find shelf space for it, noticed there is none left and there are...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build

This is a really interesting build. Cool info on the RPM + 71127 parts. Now bodies, I find the repro bodies from penguin rc as well as TBG quite nice, I think the Losi JRX Pro SE or XX bodies are easy to fit to different vehicles. If you want to stay Traxxas, the TRX3 Repro body by Penguin is a good...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler - V2

5/3/2024 Race Update Last night I had this car out at Pit Stop hobbies for another Friday night race program. The car was much faster this week with the changes I had made. I beat my fast lap by 0.7s and I ran a 15/8:15 in the main compared to the 14/8:33 last week. Significant improvement. There we...
