Re: Kyosho Burns MP-1 Restoration

Well soaking almost everything in nitro fuel except for the carb worked wonders. The piston and connecting rod freed up thankfully with plenty of back and forth play, the crankshaft slooowly started to turn and with work started to loosen up...I am not sure if it was the crankshaft, bearings or a co...

1995 Yokomo YZ-10 Pavidis Restoration (un-completed)

NOTE: Much later I discovered that the chassis brace and shock towers on this car likely point towards it being a 1997 car and not a 1995 as I had originally thought. While I have stalled on both the 1994 box art and the Kyosho Burns I was rebuilding I stumbled across a poorly listed 95 Yokomo; alt...

Next stop front and rear diff covers, not the best choice but cleaned up the best front and best rear and threw them on...

Re: 1986/87 Supercharge Hotshot

Absolutely stunning! As a kid my best friend and I both raced around hotshots which we slowly upgraded to supershots, G10 battery plates, newer shocks and I could have sworn he had the same main drive in his...it was so long ago but brought back some amazing memories, thank you!!! Great, now I want ...

Winter Budget Beater RC10EGT

So like many on here I have too much time on my hands, a bunch of stalled projects while I wait for the postman and a bunch of bits laying around I thought I would try to salvage into something that ‘could’ run in the future. I am trying to not only use what I have laying around but also attempting ...

Re: Hi Folks!

Welcome aboard! Loved the pics btw and thank you for sharing. Same thing happened to me earlier in 2020, found myself jumping back in after years away and this is the first place I went, lots of knowledge, experience and support here.

Enjoy!

Re: Winter Budget Beater RC10EGT

So I won the heap for $70 and almost instantly regretted it, not because of the amount but I have this funny feeling it is going to derail my original reason for building this project in the first place. Essentially bought it for the front and rear shocks, MIP steering, the slipper assembly and a fr...

Re: Old School A Stamp/6 gear resto

It looks to be in better shape than most of the junk that I buy. I think that I mostly find old dirt oval cars that were driven by blind people, who never serviced anything. Are those the same blind people that are drilling out the chassis of the ones I buy? This is great, so glad to be follo...

Re: Your forever car...

I had to laugh a bit when coming across this thread only because when I started to think about it, my forever car is now owned by another forum member  A quick story... I moved to Asia at a young age (dragging my beloved Marui Big Bear with me), Masami’s 870 was everywhere but at the time I did...

Re: Winter Budget Beater RC10EGT

Well the first small bunch of bits for this project came in the mail this morning and the good thing with buying cheaper used bits is if you goof, it doesn’t hurt so much. The rear associated tires are in good shape with a lot of tread left, so I am going to clean them up and mount them to some rims...

Re: Back after a wild ride b5 direction?

Welcome back! I think it has been years for a number of us including myself but nice to see some familiar names resurface from the past.

I am still stuck in the rc past focusing on first gen stuff but in my humble opinion, I say drive the b5 and enjoy it!

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

Great work, always wanted to find a way of modifying a ‘BC’ as they always seem to pop up every once in awhile at a decent price (at least right now given how crazy prices are getting).

Will be following with great interest! Keep it up.

Re: Just bought this heap on ebay

Your ‘heap’ is looking amazing! Funny what parts we start to find lying around when we start these restorations/ not Restoration builds! Lol looking great, I really should get back to mine now!

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2021 ** - Winner - coxbros1

This project started off life as a parts car purchased off of the bay that was in pretty terrible shape when I took delivery. Did not expect this to lead me down the path of doing a take on Mark Pavidis’s car and a mistake during painting almost derailed it but pretty happy where it ended up. Here i...

Re: Winter Budget Beater RC10EGT

Well juicedcoupe’s ‘heap’ is looking so good I was determined to at minimum give him a run for the money and dug my ‘heap’ out to get back to work. As suspected by many on here, this is really starting to turn into a full restoration but I wanted to continue with my attempt on salvaging the used bod...
