I'm finally starting to make a bit of headway with this build. Most everything is cleaned and prepped for assembly. I decided against peroxiding everything and will only peroxide a few things like shock collars, retainers and a few other misc bits.
I need to pick up some pipe cleaners tomorrow to clean threads/holes in the nylon. Hopefully I'll have an update tomorrow when I actually start to put something together.

Woo hoo, time to start assembling this truck.....
It will kill me to open and use this 7200 Front Suspension Kit as I've had it for probably 6 -7 years, it is perfect!! I bought it to use one day for a GT and this may be the one day. I've also got a NIP front bulkhead and body mount brace to go with it.

Marlo, I missed out on a matching rear suspension kit on ebay a few months ago. I was watching it but forgot and missed it

I don't "need" to use it but....
It has thicker front arms but hex axles which is odd isn't it?

Should be aluminum in-line axles with the thick arms. Do you have carriers in that kit, if so they should be 30* (#6210), or a least when the in-lines are used.RC10th wrote:I don't "need" to use it but....

these kits i believe came with the standard 15* carriers. the 30* carriers didn't quite come out yet.

Well, the 7200 got murdered.
This is a fun build so far, it takes me back to when kits came white. Not everything will be NIP but it should look good when done.

Finished the transmission which came out pretty good. Good enough for me at least. I bought a new brake bracket and shoe but the original stampings were squarer, I'm trying to keep this as close to original as possible.

I believe this truck was all original, the castor blocks were the same as in the 7200 kit. This 7200 had thick one hole, inline hex. The front shock tower had two ball stud locations and three shock mounting points.
The manual also makes mention of single ball stud two shock position towers.
