Recently built a Tamiya VW Bus model, and wanted to go all magnetic body posts to keep a scale look. Also added the Tamiya TLU-1 LED kit, and found it was a hassle to constantly plug and unplug the ElecHawk light switch module in to the 3rd channel on the receiver every time the body needed to be removed.
Found a smart phone charger style magnetic coupler, and used it for this project. The pin in the middle is isolated positive, the two outer pins are negative/ground. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLHXR883
Having it automatically connect makes it so much easier.
When I read the title I thought we'd been hit by some weird spam bot but this is actually a really good find , thanks for sharing , great idea !
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.
Olight uses those connectors on many of their flashlights. Great idea!
I have magnetic body mounts on my crawler. They look great and are much easier to use than pins. The strength is incredible pulling straight but the slightest force sideways and they separate very easily.
This is a quick, easy, and cheap way to get decent power for charging your R/C batteries. It's just an Xbox 360 supply with the wires gathered into +12V, GND, and jumping the sense/5V wires together (to turn on the supply). Best of all...

You should be able to find the right voltage and size and colour based on what your needs are with one of those...
The title pretty much says it all. Why did Kyosho's new Ultima dominate the '87 Worlds? Was Associated too overconfident or taken by surprise? Did the track suit the Ultima's design better? Was it all just down to tires? Any thoughts?

Thinking about Kyosho not putting enough R&D after the 87' win, maybe the effort was more towards the 1/8 car....look how many times they won that WC?
But what do I know
Not only 1/8, but many of their 4WD buggies were impressive.
