Instead of sanding do any of you use a rotary tool instead?
I use both. I use drums in tighter areas and flaps in wheelwells. Sanding block on flat runs.
I totally stink at body work so I have always been worried about using the rotary tool. That video was great for using the exacto knife so maybe I should give it all a try.
The bionic eyes and Wolverine claw are an awesome combination. Only gripe is that the magnification starts to give me a headache. But repeatedly cutting in the same score line is something I thought was impossible to do. The magic is real.

When using scissors I try to never do a full blade length snip. That always seems to result in a flaw at the end of the cut.

As you can see by all the pics of my cars none of them have bodies. Berrickster just lent :?: me a 12l that I want to put my old skool TOJ on so my question is how do you cut out the wheel wells and make them look perfect! Im not even drilling...

Ya, I BET you will!
I'll Get it done. Who wants to lend me a set of Tecnas for some pics. Now that I think about it Didn't you just win the awsome set of Sees BBS style wheels or were those 1/10 scale?
Not sure if this belongs in the paint subforum, but figured I'd try here. I have two nice bodies getting painted by someone I found on these forums with far greater skill than me. When they come back to me all fresh and ready to trim, what advice...
Here's my first attempt at a new body for my RC10T. The guys at the hobby shop said they dont make flat paint for lexan bodies. So I painted on the outside to get it as flat as possible. I know the paint to get jacked up but I dont care. I washed...

These give some mounting options:
You can move the front and rear.
I knew there had to be a better way. Oh well next time I know what to use now. Thanks
So long story short, I had some over spray on a lexan body and I used some goo gone to take it off, which it did. The problem is it sort of etched the lexan a bit. Has anyone ever successfully polished a lexan body to bring back the glossy...

Thanks, all good ideas. I received this body unpainted used so it already had some light scratches on it. I may try the clay bar idea to see how it works. I'm not going to go crazy about it though.
I came across some very good step-by-step photos of a guy in Japan who made a mold for a Kyosho Javelin body and had some relica bodies made.
Unfortunately, all of the accompanied text was in Japanese, but it isn't too hard to get the jist of what...

No, I am still looking at vacu-moulding. I know someone mentioned blow-moulding in another thread though...interesting idea.
I have an uncut Pro-line Mirage SS body. I'm thinking of making a mold of it and redesign the mold slightly . Like an air scoop for example
Is it possible to (by using the mold) massage the uncut buggy body with a heat gun...

Make a scoop out of styrene, glue in place, make new mold.
Anyone have any info on this body?
I have a brand new one with the Jammin J-204 raised in the back scrap area, but without the header card, just in a bag so I think either Jay may have sent me one to try or one was sent to me in error; but I can't...
