RC10 DS dead pool body ?

Post by rctenracer »

I think I am going to build my NIB ds kit. What body was used for the dead pool car? Bolink maybee?
http://www.bolink.com/carbodies.html

Looking at the BL2254 body.
Also whats up with the A&E site . Can't seem to find the car for referance.

it was a parma body, and will most likely be too wide for a ds.

definitely too wide for a DS suspension. standard gold pan with foams would be closer to correct.

I'll take some measurements when I get home if I can think of it. I have one.

it's not that foams are different, he's just saying it'd be more correct. that's what was used one the original car.

I had always thought those were Advance Engineering's wheels & tires.

Were the foams custom cut? Those fronts look kinda narrow..

with the big crack in the pictures at that link, it looks like foam definitely.

foam tires are all cut and trued once they are on the wheels anyway, so you can make them as wide or as narrow as you wanted. then you could groove them or slot them or whatever you wanted.....

I also mentioned the foam wheels tires beucase they might make the car slightly wider than if it had off-road knobbies, since most of the usual foam wheels/tires combos usually had a bit more offset.....but the wheels look pretty close to standard buggy offsets.

the body is about 8.4" wide, so about 214mm. Good 14mm wider than a DS at 200mm.

Thanks for all the info. I just don't care for the mustang body in the kit.

Just out of curiosity. The pictures of the "actual car". Why are there no scratches on it? That car should be pretty beaten on the bottom.
