SG Coyote
I got this in the mail yesterday. It looks to be in great shape...just some dust from sitting so long. This is the 2wd version. I originally thought it was 4wd from the pictures because it came with the shaft that would power the front gearbox, but theres no gears upfront, so its 2wd.
It couldnt have been ran much. Theres a couple of very light scratches on the arms, but thats it.

been around for a long time sg has, are you going to restore or run it? think i've got some 4wd parts around somewhere you can have

I have a soft spot for the Coyote. I bought a couple of very lightly used examples ages ago then a nib kit later on. I used what parts from the nib kit and the used pair to build up a 4WD with all the metal internal gears. I still need the main propshaft but all in good time.
I think the Coyote is begging for someone somewhere to get it onto the track for a little R&D and hopefully get this car to work (well).
Who doesn't love the Italian styling? I know I do. This car would look awesome moving around the track at pace.

From what I've read the plastic gears are pretty weak, but what about the arms...are they fairly weak or can they take a beating?

The Coyote is not one of those cars that you'd think would service a beating. The plastic moldings are on the soft side and the earlier versions had the plastic helicopter gears on the input layshaft. They would chew up even with a standard 540 motor.

I´m not sure if there were different versions of the Coyote but our cars had gold anodized aluminium chassis plates and shocktowers. But these also were very early cars designed and sold by TAG, maybe the SG was later. I think we didn´t have problems with drivetrain but the worsest thing with the Coyote was the soft chassis. Soon after I received the car I made a fibreglass chassis with saddlepack batteries what was much better but also a heavy car then.
That time I got special prototype wheelhubs with oneway and universals what worked much better than the standard parts. I know I still have them, maybe have to go through my offroad boxes.
Regarding wheels I don´t know those from the picture. We used the Hotshot style wheels also the ones from the Mini Mustang would work.

I think you talk about the TAG PRO 10, with gold chassis , shock towers and shocks, with red wheel like the Mini Mustang.
