I 've been looking to get into a SRB lately....any SRB. I don't know much about them, but I always thought they were cool. I think $225 was a pretty good price. Do you guys see anything that might need fixing? I'll post more pics when I get it....

I know this probably isn't the forum for this, but really quickly, what are the major differences between the SS,SC, and RR besides the obvious: bodies, radio tray, body mounts, tires?
a friend of mine called me today and asked me for some new tires for his
grasshopper II. he is living around 400 miles away from me so i couldn't
tell him give the wheels to me to me and i'll try if any of my vintage tires fit your wheels....

Those look alittle big on the rear highway.... These are the box art wheels:
The ones on my car are the 2.1 / 2.0 version. My Grasshopper 2 came with yellow wheels originally, but I thought the color stood out too much, so I went with the CRP...
I think the title says it all. Its complete I think except the tires... I am planning on a clean up (already took apart - low parts count, very easy). I dont think it has been run, maybe once? It appears to have been sitting in a basement or...

OMG that gear is worth more than some rc10 stuff... 46 bucks already!?!
I have a Tamiya Avante in awesome condition.. it has been restored to the highest standards (mine!). Virtually every part is new, anything that isn't has been cleaned and restored and this car is everybit...

Cheers for the nice comments..
It is a LOVELY car - very pretty in the way that an RC10 is perhaps not..
As a racer at heart though - racing cars are what I collect, not these pretty, but probably more desirable cars.
Probably more appropriate in the Clodtalk, but oh well.
Will Midnight Pumpkin wheels fit on the Wild Willy 2? Tires the same size as well?
Thanks!

If that's the size of the drive cup, you can probably use axles from the re-release frogs and drill a hole. Another option (but rare) would be to find the clamping rear (hub thing) for a blackfoot. Thorp makes a set that's usually anodized in red....
i got this with an ultima but im sure its not an ultima body of any kind.
thought it was an rc 10 body and just checking to see if itmay be usefull to any one who perhaps remakes these or someone who may need it incase its an oldy but a goody.i did...

How's the 4wd working? is it the same as on shodogs avatar car?
Those axles running to the front wheels (if they even are axles) look so flimsy.
The 4wd drive on this will be a chain drive though I might make it cable drive I am not sure...
I'm making aluminum Sand Scorcher race chassis for Team CRP, and was told that I don't need to drill the 4 holes near the side edges of the rear. Neither of us knows what those holes are for, and I'm hesitant to leave them out science they are in...
.. Here are the specs/pics. I want honest opinions on what you guys think i should set the ebay reserve for..
It just sits and i don't want to run it due to its value.... Its a rc10 front end and a Hot trick chassis and Frog diff and rear arms. Its...

i found a new in box tamiya xr311, tamiya's first off road vehicle, i am pretty positive its the year 2000 remake, and it had a $400 price tag on it, is that typical for this car when it was new? i really want one, and a NIB one would be REALLY...

I have a nib one (rerelease) I could put you in, just because I am craving a b44
i found one new, open box, never ran at a hobby shop for $60, what parts are out there for it? aluminum rims? tires? chassis stuff? shocks are big, any suggestions? links? forum threads for sales, etc etc would be awesome!!

hi congrats on that frog. still a nice car, i love mine. there is still a bunch of stuff made by team crp for the frog,
but some hop ups on ebay like that you-g shock kits don't come cheap. better scrounge some shocks for the crp shock towers. i'm...
OK Tammies, how did I do? What I am looking for is a car that is fun to play with, cheap, and I can still get parts for it. I will clean it up and post more pics when it arrives.

It dot dawn on me that you would lose front breaks. That could be fun but I think I will leave it alone. I will only be bashing this car in parking lots and on my street.
Tamiya #58148 Lola T94/00 Honda (F103-L) Runs and seems very fast. Body paint is flaking off and tires are pretty rough, but the rest seems mint and stock. Any tips for body paint removal?
i need a set of 1.5 fronts (tamiya size) and a set of 2.0-2.1 rears (old associated size) Aluminum Rims, PReferably Matching in style, simple plain would be lovely..
Does JPS Do Tamiya Style Fronts? do they still mail order? Any other help would...

Those rad 22 alloys look killer but they are pricey and you still need the inner rim piece from a stocker. I bought a set for one of my Sand Scorchers.

so ive been searching for some different tire styles for a couple different buggies i am making, and CONSTANTLY between internet searches and ebay searches, i keep finding GREAT 1.5 tires from tamiya and crp etc. I have a bunch of different aluminum...

Doesn't Tower charge flat rate shipping regardless of size, for like $8.99 or something similar..... if that is the case, it pretty much a wash.
How long does registration normally take? I applied for forum registration more than a few days ago, and have yet to hear anything or receive password information.
They aren't completely exclusive to Tamiya nerds, are they?
Hi, any king soul has the specs for Desert Gator body shell? I thought of using it on my gold chassis. Or maybe someone had used it and show a pic over here? I've seen one of the forumer using Sand Viper's body but have not seen the Desert Gator's....

You'd have to grind them down. These are manufactured thousands at a time. I'd hate to have them change the CNC programming for a few or even one set. Sorry Hoopty.

Thanks for the compliment, but the build is not ready yet.
When it's ready it will look quite different from a standard ultima under the hood also and I'll put up a separate tread for it.
About the paint:no worries, the body costed less than 8 euro.
Just to clarify this is the none RC10 and none vintage RC section right :?: , if not I'm ready for a telling
I haven't picked a paint scheme yet, it's going to be a runner so I think I will stick with white (to hid the scratches when they...

Ferreti,
You could just paint it white and don't forget the glass coats.
That way if it scratches you won't see too much, but it also won't start going yellow.
That's a good idea  , I never even thought about it discolouring. :?
I'm planning to buy all of them but wanted to check for demand here first.
The kyosho is by far the oldest I believe, the box has a funny line: 'garden off-roader' or gardener off-road' something :)

That link isn't to the garden offroad hilux. If that is the car it is rare and Kyoshos first proper off road chassis with 2 speed gearbox and 4wd. The garden off roader is 1/16th scale, 2wd and with no rear suspension
I thought I would show you guys some Tamiya buggies that started the off road craze. The Rough Rider and Sand Scorcher were based off the same chassis affectionately known as the SRB (special racing buggy) chassis. These came out in 1979 and spawned...

The gearboxes are the same on all Tamiyas TA01 and TA02 tourers, apart from the colour. Most of them are red. More usefully the same gearboxes are used in the Manta Ray in black, so to replace the gearboxes you need part numbers 0005375 and 9005318...
