Re: Kyosho Optima Build
The rough edges look more like the overspray film curling up...but yes, a Dremel can help remove any burrs or roughness along the edges. I actually use a pointy cone-shaped Dremel bit to make holes for body posts. It's much neater than trying to trim a tiny rectangle, and much less likely to crack ...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
I will try my best. I painted a sample of the lexan. This looks to be more challenging than I thought with this paint as it doesn't adhere well with a brush. More to come. I was wondering about that. Mini z bodies are abs plastic so the paint may not work too well on lexan. just a thought. It seems...

Can you show step by step pics as you paint the body Bill? Could be handy for anyone wanting to do a box art Optima body. Keith  I will try my best. I painted a sample of the lexan. Re: Kyosho Optima Build
Beautiful! How did you polish the aluminium parts? You can get a nice satin-aluminum finish by wet-sanding all the aluminum parts with 400-grit sandpaper. Of course, don't do this on anodized parts like the gold or red shocks, only on the bare aluminum parts. If you want a nice, glossy finish, that...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
Haha, I know what you mean about getting the shakes, I'm the same with things like that. Do you find it any easier with they tyre on or off the wheel? I've ordered some of those pens myself, looks like they work pretty well despite your shaking. :P Keith  Yes they do work well. I didn't...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
Looking good! I keep forgetting to look for one of those Sharpies when I'm at a place that might have them. (You know, when you stand up and go in the other room to grab something and then forget what it is you went in there to get?) Thanks for reminding me again. The sharpie I used is the oil base...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
Well, I am still looking for the original box art servos, receiver, and radio. This is what I found in the mean time. This is the radio that is on the box at for the Turbo Optima. It should suffice for now.

Others parts are contained in the pack but it has what you're looking for. Good progrees BTW, looking really nice so far. :D Keith  That's aweso...

Re: Kyosho Optima Build
Very nice restoration, good job :P Thank you very much. I have now installed original electronics including mounting the resistors where they were originally. I had to make a resistor protector out of a damaged upgraded one but it's temporary until I can make a real one. Still waiting on original r...
