So I am going to be building a a Clod kit I am wanting to upgrade things like the chassis as I can afford it I want to use CPEs Time Warp Chassis & 4 links as I want this to be a Retro Basher. Iam going to be running 3s Lipo brushed. I wanted to run...

Andy will have a ton of answers for you. andymac0035 is his name here.
As the title states I'm way out of my comfort zone on this thing for knowledge. Can the clod gurus tell me what this started as and what I should be looking up parts for? Its got a few nice parts on it and plan on tearing it down to freshen it up...

Thanx for the reply.
I had a new set of gears that I had from somewhere else and picked up another set of new gears. Just couldn't validate the expense of alloy since its not going to get run as hard as a clod deserves to get run so stock will work...
I’ve wanted a clod for a long time. It’s just never been a priority. Figured it was time to build one.
For the first one, stock gearboxes with “bolt on” parts. Later I’ll build a fancy one. I am a huge fan of cantilever especially with proper...

All of clear gear case covers that I made, I just used a washer and nut. In the grand scheme of things, you are not really going to notice them anyways. :D Biggest thing at a quick glance is that the gear mesh is good.
So I have a Clod thats got a CPE aluminum chassis and great shocks and 2 Hobbywing EZrun MAX10 ESC's with 4000kv motors. The hobbywing ESC's are soldered together for 1 battery. Right now I am using a 2s Lipo. Could I change to 5400KV motors for...
I had a bunch of spare parts from my days owning many clods, so I decided to build one. Only parts I purchased were esc, servo and wheels (why are they only available in chrome?).
Old parts on here are Apm chevy bumper, Duratrax v-spike & diamond...

Wow, that came out nice. Always cool when you build something up from basically nothing.
It's been 25 years since I was into Rc and I bought a Super Clodbuster in hopes of building something close to what I wanted to build back then. But I get online looking for a chassis and see all the cool stuff that's came, and apparently gone,...

Welcome. What kind of chassis you looking for? I still have a Black Edition to build.. The JConcepts Regulator chassis looks interesting..not too extreme.
Here’s the start of my first ever Clodbuster build. Really no clue how to build a monster truck and I don’t always like to build off of proven platforms so I’m going back to my old school crawler roots and scratch building as much as I can. Here’s...

I was ready to make the (final version) of the chassis but was put on hold until I had electronics. That stalled me out because I wasn’t ready to buy at the moment and now I’m just lacking motivation to RC. I’ll get to it one day.
It has a Hobbywing ESC, 2 HPI Firebolt Motors, a Chassisextensionbracket, a Carolina Crusher Body, Aluminium antirotation Brackets, and 2 Servomounts designed by a Tamiyaclub Member....

I use to work in magazine manufacturing, hot glue was to brital. It's easy to break when stressed. We used a rubbery type of glue to glue on sticker packs. Unfortunately I have no idea what it was since it was like 11 years ago.
I used to have a close on a Zilla 2 chassis I sold 7-8 years ago and have since regretted. Anyway this popped up on the local CL about 20 mins away from me and at a reasonable price so I pulled the trigger. When I got home there were some killer...

Nice find! I too regret selling off all my clods years ago as well!
Hold onto this project and I look forward to your build. You have some nice vintage items in there as well!
I've been out of the hobby for over a decade, I'd like to get my Clodbuster going again. Currently it uses a Novak Super Rooseter with two modified motors. I hated the run time it use to have, just a few minutes.
Are there any esc's available that...

I ended up picking up the one everybody recommended... I have an old pair of Speed works Monster mash motors that I may use. A less modified old school truck perhaps.
I use to have more motors, but lost some stuff when my basement flooded.
This is a Clod I started building in the fall of 2018. I had been out of RC for about 20 yrs and decided to jump back in about a year & half ago with a tube chassis clod again. This one has taken a back burner a few times due to other projects....

Yeah, hated seeing my rcs collect dust in the basement. Already spending more than I wanted just to get them going.... just like old times! Haha
This started at the beginning of 2013, after taking a year off from clodbusters. I had switched to an axial wraith based monster and even tried an e-maxx, but I guess my wife new better, and there was a new super clodbuster kit under the tree, so...

Not sure how many rc10talk.com regulars happen to stop by sister site clodtalk.com, but just a heads up, clodtalk.com is closing down. Like, in 48 hours, it won't exist and all will be wiped out. So, those in the corner offices have created a forum...

Hello everyone not sure if I'm posting this in the right place so if not I apologize. I recently ordered a new super clodbuster and was wondering if any one knows where you can get a stretch chassis for it to make it longer thanks in advance
Last post
It depends on how much of a stretch you're after. If you're looking for a longer wheelbase, then you can use whatever chassis you like as the 4-link dictates that. If you want a longer wheelbase and longer chassis than the stock tub, you're going to...
There is a long story about me constantly begging a friend of mine to use or borrow his CB back when I was 14 or so, and him never doing it for the longest time. He never played with it, and it just sat there. Then a one point, he needed a favor...

Back in 2010 I got returned to the hobby. My wife surprised me with an SC10. This was neat, but all I could think about was the original clodbuster I had back in the 80's. This lead to buying a new super clodbuster, and discovering how many mods had...

yeah, the ladders are cool. The 'brace' links always bothered me but I think I saw someone replace them with an upper third link in the servo saver hole that was triangulated and it gave good articulation. I found the axles cheap(ish) so I went this...

Do not use acetone on anything Tamiya. They are about 90% abs parts and will melt. I think maybe the only parts not abs are rod links for most models. The red or blue parts I think are also a nylon. Possibly a blend so don't chance it.
I sold my Powers/JPS Clod a few years back, and I miss it. JPS is out of business so when Hesse Machine offered a run of aluminum Clod axles at the end of 2018 I had to get a pair and build a new Clodbuster. I opted for straight axle housing at the...
