I'm trying to restrain myself from a shopping spree on all of this vintage R/C goodness going around. I'm frustrated with Kyosho's limited production of their legendary series & it seems like by the time I hear about a new re-release, they're all...

Thanks... I pre-ordered the new special edition Optima Mid... though I can still change my mind... decisions
Inspect the shock pistons if you are building a recent re-re Schumacher. The pistons below came with my Cougars, but it most likely applies to the Pro CAT as well. Others on the FB group have had similar issues. I didn't have any bad pistons with my...
So am I the only one in the US still waiting (since June 10) for the re-re Cougar? I see several US residents on FB have them, even those who didn't get one from the first batch.
On a side note, it is awfully quiet here in the Schumacher section....

Did everyone who ordered back in the summer get their Cougar? I got mine last week.
Was looking to grab one a few months ago but got sidetracked - now I can’t find on for sale under $875!? Think these will be made again or is this just how things are now with rarity and inflation?

I feel for you guys with “too many” cars - sounds like a real pain!
Hello,
I recently purchased a partially built CAT XLS Masami Kit, it came with the upgraded transmission. I plan to build and run this car a fair bit. This is my first experience with a Schumacher kit. Due to the fact that this kit is now out of...

Complex and a pain to build. Very interesting engineering piece though. Injust need to find some time to finish mine. Any ideas on Schumacher’s next rere?
Hello! Does anyone know, or can anyone with a Cat XLS re-re take a measurement of these ball studs?
Are the balls 5.8mm diameter?
Thanks in advance! Cheers!
Would any of you know if a brushless sidewinder sport be to much for the stock transmission of a rere TOPCAT to handle? I am an utter newb when it comes to brushless and want to ask those with more smarts

The further away from Chicago the better.
I'll have to scoop up a well used Topcat if I ever come across one.
I have a CAT XLS re release and haven't built it yet but have a question about the assembly and motor.
I've been reading up on various builds but was wondering if anyone here has some assembly tips for me? Like what to pay attention...

The integrator is what makes this car unique. It is the perfect example of overengineering and the car is easier to setup and run without.
But this setup is part of its british charm.
Just some quick, probably easy questions...
1. Where is the new CAT XLS Masami kit manufactured? China?
2. Does anyone know what exact driver figure was used in the box art pic of the original car? It's even got steering wheel+hands.
cheers guys.

I just wanted to follow up my original question also, with this. I contacted Schumacher some time after I posted this thread, to ask where the CAT XLS Masami was manufactured. The answer?
Thank you for your E-Mail.
Our kits are still designed and...
I bought myself a rerelase CAT XLS (my first Schumacher car!) and need to disassemble a shock. Can someone tell me how to remove the internal circlip that holds the o-rings and washers without causing damage?
So I started this last year with a saddle pack chassis and my WASP Racing alloy front box that's took me ages to find.
That's how it stayed really while I amassed parts for it. Then about 2 months ago I got intouch with a guy in NZ who said he'd...

Peaky sold this a while back and earlier this year I saw the chassis and front diff housing and a few other things up for sale on eBay. Seems a shame to me to have a build that someone put so much time and effort into only to be parted out. But I...
Hi guys
Growing up in the 80's the cat was my dream rc car ,ive been in and out of the hobby ever since , back then I could only stretch to a hornet and then a boomerang and a few other tamiya cars took a break ,then onto nitro buggies and stadium...

Great build thread and good looking ride evo. I may pull the trigger, been wanting to dip my toe in something non- Associated and the Schumacher always looked cool to me
With out boring you all too much, I spent my youth racing (or trying to 🤣) a Schumacher Bosscat/ProCat mongrel with lots of mods that I had cobbled together, eventually sold all in 96 and haven’t touched one since....things have quite...

Lipos should be balanced at around 3.8v per cell every time you're done using them. A decent charger will do this automatically with the storage setting. I use an Ultra Power 10 amp charger. They cost around $60. This style charger lets me monitor...
I'd purchased an XLS re-re kit a few months ago along with the Pro Transmission upgrade that I'd planned to keep for a rainy day but the urge got the better of me so I dug it out at the weekend. :)
I bought a new kit in 1986 at the age...

I agree, it looks great Winner. The paint scheme really takes me back. Well done!!
Actually, now that think about it, I used to have a golf shirt with those stripes. Little did I know at the time, I was sporting Williams F1 colors.
Talk on oOple that there's going to be a XL rerelease, lipo ready with upgraded slipper trans, anyone heard anything?

GoMachV is absolutely right, start with the Kyosho.
I have both in original vintage and re-release (Javelin) and the Schumacher is definitely for more experienced builders and racers.
Either way, 4WD buggies are a lot of fun. They offer a completely...
Has anyone tried to install a standard length nimh or lipo whilst using the supplied undertray and body? I just did and I can tell you they don't fit well at all. With either battery in place, I'm not able to pull the tray sides up to where they...

Thank you Dan. That's a very nice piece; doesn't require anything special to mount and secures with a single screw. Really nice design!
After assembling the re-re XLS’s rear suspension in accordance with the manual, I’ve noticed what I would consider an excessive amount of rear wheel bump-steer (perhaps 5 degrees or more per side). The manual has you adding a 2mm spacer under the...

Sure enough, you are correct Peter. The re-released XLS actually uses the same width steering rack as the original SWB car. Do you reckon they did that for ackermann; effectively providing a bit more aggressive steering for the longer wheelbase car?...
Just built a masami edition (2nd one) added pro transmission and can’t get it to run freely,
My 1st built with standard trans is free the 2nd seems to have a lot of drag? Is it just me or anyone Aldean have the same problem

It will probably be solved by now, but check the clearance in the front housing and surrounding parts. The front pulley rubs on the lexan undertray.
