I know there are holes in the list, but we can continue to build on this as we go. It's fairly comprehensive thus far, so hopefully this can help those of you who are looking for the general information on these motors. Feel free to offer...
A while back I found a cool thread www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=239 started by Scr8p that linked to a timeline Novak had on their website. With Novak updates ending the timeline in 2009, their eventual closure, and wayback links as the only...

This is the place to discus the: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide
For cleanliness and clarity, it was decided to no longer allow posts to be made in the actual topic itself. The discussion regarding it can be made here instead in...
Futaba used to offer these two spec lists for their older discontinued receivers and servos. Now they're only available through the Internet Archives site. That's a bit of a pain. So I decided to edit them a bit, and post them here for easier...

I see that R142JE is called out in the manual. Somehow I muat have gotten confused about the 152 superseding the 142. Thanks for the measurements.
20 does sound like a good starting point. Just making sure 23 isn't more common.
Hey guys, I recently came across 3 Losi RC's (a JRX Pro and 2 LXTs) that were raced back in the early 90s. They came with a bunch of brushed motors and there are a few of them that I cannot identify.

Hi all
Can anyone tell me if there were Demon motors sporting a black and white chequered flag sticker with Demon power and logo in what looks like pink more than red.
Not as I remember Demon motors but from what I can tell these were later models....
We all miss a timeline for Tekin ESC's and others.
With that said, I started to go through RCCA magazines from 1988 to parts of 1997. Now I know that the dates/years are not accurate as it all depends on when RCCA had the chance to get their hand on...

411-P2 should be sometime in ‘93
I see that the the Tekin manual includes.
410-S2
411-P2
411-G2 (RCCA Nov-93)
420-G2 (RCCA Feb-94)
I know that pages are missing in the scanned RCCA mags. This could be why I don't get a hit on the 411-P2 or...
Picked up this very clean motor recently which I'm certain isn't an actual Trinity Ex-Tech motor. From my understanding Ex-Tech motors had gray cans, gray Epic endbells (some possibly purple) and gold brush hoods.
I have run my revived TC3 a few times now and just got a second, used RTR TC3 for my son that has been run a few times as well. Both cars have brushless motors and ESC's but are from the pre-LiPo era, so do not have low voltage cut off. My sole car...

Would agree with TRX-1-3, dry brush the loose dirt, follow with diluted Dawn sparingly and wiped off quick. Picks in the crevices, q-tips on the chrome, nooks and crannies, with care around Futaba's soft decals. All you're removing is dirt and...
I ran stock truck the most in the early to mid 90's and just for kicks I was trying to remember which 24*, 27-turn, NON-rebuildable stock motors Reedy stuck their labels on and what year they came out. I think this is all of them, If you guys...
Is there anyone here on the site who knows how to repair or diagnose non-functioning brushed ESC's? Or does anyone know of someone who does? I have a handful or more old Novak and Tekin ESC's which don't function properly, and I'd like to attempt to...

I use a guy in the UK called Ian Mullaney. He is on Fb if you want to look him up. He has told me I am ok to pass on his details. He has rebuilt multiple esc’s for me including Demon, Novak, Tekin, Laser, CS, Marfet and Victor Engineering.

They should just be standard slot car springs. Group 12 and up.
Anyone have access to a manual for a Novak RC Analyzer? Or does anyone have any hobby shop contacts that might be willing to make a copy of their manual? My good independent LHS closed, but maybe I'll ask the Hobby Town people. They might surprise...
School me on the need and “how to” for a diode? Cap? Not sure what it’s called that was added to a brushed motor back in the day. I think it was to reduce radio interference? Still needed today?
Last post
Not all motors required a Schottky unless it was mentioned in your esc manual. The caps (not diodes) were typically .1 uF ceramic disc and you used two. Some esc's wanted you to use 3. Some kits had an electrolytic or tantalum cap....
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a used 240 SB motor. Upon inspection I am suspicious the armature is not authentic. Can anyone confirm this based on the images below? The winds are messy and damaged and to my eye it looks more like a stock rotor....

OMG that was so kind of you to take apart your SPA !
I recently received from the bay a 240 combo. The ST is definitely correct but i don't believe the WS is , its a single wind. It looks like something I have seen before but I can't remember when,...
What is the story with these endbells? I do not think Losi ever offered so I am assuming this was built at some point in history. Just acquired off ebay. It sure does look pretty.
Well, a lot has changed in 3.5 years. To say the least. :D But that armature lives on with someone else at this point, long since gone to the ebay grave yard.

I am trying to date my early 2PBKA and stumbled upon this thread. Since it has a R112JE rx I'd say it's the early 90's and probably 1991. Mine is earlier with a R102JE rx, which I assume is late 80's and probably 88/89.
