Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
Had to do something with that battery space, so I made some side plates from 2mm Carbon and used the factory holes to fit some plastic servo mounts to hold them home. Keep the dirt out. And kept my Carbon tube retaining screw I mentioned earlier https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=49150. So I g...

Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
With the battery the hard case normal length LIPOs are too long for the plastic battery clips supplied in the kit, and too short for a "shorty" LIPO So I was stuck either trying to find another 8.4V wider battery clip for both sides Boomerang battery.png So There is class running Stock Mot...

Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
So the front had real estate with the shorty servo, so I put the AMB transponder in there, I added a small tray on top for the receiver, and mounted a LRP Quantum 2 on the back. I'm sourcing an older style non BEC switch to rewire to the original bathtub location on the side for the ESC. Just notice...

Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
The Rear tower was strong in plastic, however I accidentally sprayed brake cleaner on it and it discolored like a 1970's Tye died T shirt. More Carbon tracing followed with the 2mm rear tower. The blue plastic wing mount bothered me so out it went too, swapped it for some piano wire, and Traxxas Rus...

Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
Reading up the Front blue plastic roll bar supports are known for their flex, its usual to swap these for big wig parts but i cut up a carbon battery hold down from a yokomo and threaded the carbon to take the tie rod ends to nip up on the bar. The sway bar dog bones were not adjustable either so ma...

Re: My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
Got bored on night shifts and started to look into making it a bit more interesting, this guy on RC TECH did a lot of mods and has a lot of experience campaigning the boomerang. https://www.rctech.net/forum/vintage-forum/1005022-build-complete-tamiya-boomerang.html I added his K&S Tube idea for ...

My ReRe Boomerang mods to date
Hi All, Just like to share some modifications I've been making on my re release boomerang i bought a few years back. I grabbed this off a bloke a year or so after the 2017 re release. He had partially assembled but not finished the chassis, But kids mortgages etc got in the way and been playing arou...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives
Sorry P.S, I have found that on some of those Japanese sites it can be easier to type say "OPTIMA MID" into google translate, they cut and paste the Japanese characters into the search engine on their site. Can dramatically increase hits, but usually downloading a manual and finding the ac...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives
Hey HZ, Ive been getting a few parts off these guys https://www.plazajapan.com/4955439029060/ you need to be patient as the search engine is nothing like we are used to, but if you find the parts they are very cheap. They only stock OEM parts on this site, or BANZAI japan no aftermarket stuff, but t...

Re: Finally found a Triumph
Did these have CVD'S from factory? Mine does not but seems like too well appointed car to not have them fitted?
Maybe ZXR Lazer or ZX5?
Cheers

Finally found a Triumph
Been looking for last couple of years and grabbed this from Japan. No one really rates these but ive always has a soft spot for them from the old Hobby City days in Auckland, This one needs CVD's and the battery clips etc, but not in bad nick. The double belt gearbox is supposed to be pretty ineffic...

Tamiya Boomerang battery pin carbon modification
So I'm playing around with a boomerang at the moment and have never been happy with the crappy battery pin set up. Had some 4mm od carbon tube and decided to see how I could improve it. Realized pretty quickly a small lathe would of been perferred but made do with a decent drill press vice and patie...

Amazing find mate, well done.
Imagine the painstaking collecting and cost back in the day to get those to that finish.

Finally replaced my T3PB PCM and completed my set
Always regretted selling my old FP-T3PB, Finally managed to grab an absolute mint condition one in Japan. And a matching FP-R113P receiver. The FM FP-T2PDF i discovered last year in the box, transmitter only, and the original FP-T2PD was mine from new, i ran it in my Optima mid custo mspecial from S...
