Re: RC10 Transmission Help
I had a similar experience as above. I replaced the damaged parts, spur and pinion gears, and cleaned everything up. Made sure everything was tight and had successful runs without any issues. I'm running the Castle Sidewinder brushless esc and 4600kv motor combo with 2s lipo from smc-racing.

Re: RC10 Transmission Help
I found a stealth transmission in good condition on EBay for $50. Would it be a better choice to purchase the stealth? Will the stealth transmission install without any modifications or extra parts?

Re: RC10 Transmission Help
Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure what grease was used since the car was sitting for 20+ years. Very well could have been for something else. I downloaded the manual and planned on ordering the Associated #6636 grease that you posted with a new spur gear and balls.

RC10 Transmission Help
I need some help. There is an "A" stamp on the bottom chassis of the car. Is this a 6-gear transmission or could this be a stealth? I recently changed the old electronics to a brushless Castle Sidewinder 4600 kv motor/esc combo and 2s Lipo. I ran into some problems with the gearing or tran...

Thanks. I ordered another set of wheels/tires and will tone down my esc for a softer takeoff.

Re: Trans or Spur Gear problems Looking for help
Thanks again for the replies. Should I replace the spur gear with Team Associated #6634 81T and Team Associated #6626 1/8" differential balls?
Again I have a Castle Sidewinder 3 4600kv brushless combo.

Re: Trans or Spur Gear problems Looking for help
Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure what grease was used when it was originally installed. I will work on replacing all of the parts with new per the instructions and go from there. What is 'milder mill'

Trans or Spur Gear problems Looking for help
I recently installed a Castle Sidewinder 3 4600kv brushless combo with a SMC 2s lipo battery. I went through about half a charge when I started having problems. I would hit the throttle and nothing, just winding up. When I checked the motor, trans, etc. there were black shavings all over the spur ge...

Re: Show me your Gold Pan electronics layouts
Thanks. So I hooked everything up to test it out and setup the castle esc, bind the radio, etc. How do I prevent the rear tires from ballooning? They are brand new tires/rims not glued but I do have the foam liners inside. Should I glue or tape the insides of the tires? I saw a few posts about addin...

Re: Show me your Gold Pan electronics layouts
I moved some things around and came up with the attached below. I still need to secure everything down and zip tie the wires together to clean it up. Assume this is better. I moved the battery up toward the front for weight distribution and tried to keep it centered. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vabkf...

Re: Show me your Gold Pan electronics layouts
With the new 2.4ghz radios do I still need to run the antenna or can it be tucked away under the body?

Re: Show me your Gold Pan electronics layouts
Thanks for the link. Below is how mine is currently sitting. Would I be better off centering the battery for weight distribution or am I over thinking this?
