Re: Rebuilding an original Worlds (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Getting closer. Got some shocks built tonight and cleaned the steel turnbuckles and white ball ends a bit. Looking quite tight.

That's not just a stash, that's a gold mine! 8)
It has a ton of sentimental value for sure, and probably a little $ value too.

Re: Rebuilding an original Team car (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Got it taken apart in an hours time so I can get started on degreasing and soaking the parts. It actually has a few nice parts, including a correct offset set of hexes to use new generation 12mm hex wheels. And a set of inline front axels with big nuts (like the Kinwald 1993 worlds car) A race which...

Rebuilding an original Team car (A series of builds by rcpelle)

This build is part of a series of builds I am doing at the same time while sourcing parts. This car will be the biggest challenge because it looks like crap. It is such a bad state and I will need to replace quite a few parts, but I got it for close to nothing and wanted to build a nice team car. Th...

Re: Rebuilding an original Worlds (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Coming together and not like a new car, but like a racer prepared for the next big meeting.

Re: Rebuilding an original Worlds (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Putting it all together while working on all parts. Polishing hinge pins and king pins. Making everything move freely. Giving it a blue screw makeover and working on the aluminum edges and trimming the motor mount (even though it was quite mint).

Rebuilding an original Worlds (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Yes I got hooked and now have a finished B3 build and three other builds going. I am dedicating a thread to each. This one is about a Worlds I found on FB Marketplace. The post had a rere image so it was only when enquiring that I found out it was about an original Worlds in good condition and full ...

Re: Rebuilding a B2 (A series of builds by rcpelle)

On the images above, the car has B3 rear hubs. I am waiting for the postman to bring the correct old stock ones.

Re: Rebuilding a B2 (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Getting more parts together, but I am missing a few key B2 parts. The chassis is B3 and so is the front top plate. It has new B2 composite arms, the correct rear arm mounts with the smaller screws and only a number 3 written. The correct rear chassis plate, but it is worn and stripped for anodizing ...

Re: Rebuilding a B2 (A series of builds by rcpelle)

Finding parts, cleaning them and test attaching them to each other. I think I need a new chassis. At this point I was missing the steering assembly, and both rear and steering hubs. I also have a few too new part on here.

Rebuilding a B2 (A series of builds by rcpelle)

So as posted in my B3 build thread, I have decided to do a few more builds. This one is about building a B2 in 1996 style - the year I started driving for Team Associated after approaching Gene Hustings at the 1996 Florida Winter Champs. I am using as many original parts from back then as I can. I a...

Thanks! Yes sure will do that.
