Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun

I believe it is too short. Two options I can think of from there: 1. I would consider cutting it, work out a D-cut at each end, and create a sleeve which would allow to lock the shaft end at the right length with some set screws.. 2. use a 2mm wire and bend it to the right dimensions... Thanks for ...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun

Just a quick precision, the propeller shaft characteristics are the following : - wire 2mm based - length 177mm - ends are 8mm wide At the end, the Tamiya TA01/DF01 seems to be very close from this (about 175-176mm). I've ordered one, we'll see once it arrives. Following. Thanks for sharing this in...

Re: Pargustore vintage RC parts factory visit

I had a visit to Mr. Cho's Pargu factory in Kimpo South Korea yesterday! With his permission, I am posting some photos from my visit and personal tour of his shop! Some of you have purchased from his store on Ebay where he sells hard-to-find vintage RC parts. He sells items that improve current vin...

Re: What was Masami’s 1987 CAT XL original servo?

My first memory of Masami was at one of our club races hearing one of the guys talk about this Japanese kid who just won the Worlds. He couldn't recall his name but he spoke about how the kid races using a stick radio and is so talented he can drive around the track in reverse and even drive with h...

Re: What was Masami’s 1987 CAT XL original servo?

Check out Maasaki’s (Masami’s Father) YouTube channel on his replica CAT build.First episode is the story of the buggy and among other things Talks about how KO quickly manufactured a servo for the 87 Worlds. Very interesting https://youtu.be/fIJdvk1wJ1M I agree completely! I've just finished watch...

Re: What was Masami’s 1987 CAT XL original servo?

Thanks. I was thinking about that too—I think it was the same servo on his Yokomo 870c? Trying to figure out what would be today's Ko Propo equivalent.

What was Masami’s 1987 CAT XL original servo?

I was trying to look up what servo was used on Masami’s original winning CAT XL but can’t seem to find any info. I‘m assuming it was a KO Propo. I know what he used for the other electronics, but not the servo. Would anyone happen to know what model it was? Thanks!

Re: What spring tension or brush hardness should I use for older motors?

If you just want a basic serrated brush, check Tekin. They have brush and spring kits for standup and laydown. If I didn't already have a stockpile of brushes, springs, and the tools to modify them, they would be my most likely choice. Reedy, Team Brood, Jconcepts, and others still offer new brushe...

What spring tension or brush hardness should I use for older motors?

I have some older brushed motors that I purchased used. On some of these motors, I can tell the spring isn't original and the brushes need to be replaced. The problem is there's no instructions or documentation and it's challenging to find old information online. The only thing I can tell is they us...

Re: Is there a PDF manual for the YZ10 (870c) online and not the Works '91 or 870c version?

Thanks guys! Sorry for the late response. a01butal sent JPEGs of the manual (thanks!). I think it was only missing the shock/damper assembly part—a01butal noted that there are 870c/AE shocks differences (YZ10 uses RC10 dampers/shocks, etc.) and I’m just about to gather/research that part. I do have ...

Is there a PDF manual for the YZ10 (870c) online and not the Works '91 or 870c version?

I have a YZ10/project and unfortunately I don't have a manual for it. This is the U.S. release version of the YZ870C. I was able to get an 870C manual online but I was surprised that there seems to be no online/PDF manual for the YZ10. Every place points me to the Works '91. I know the 870c is almos...
