Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
Not to fan the flames or anything, but didn't Thinder Tiger go after FanRC (among others) for producing kits similar to their RC10 re-releases? And now TT is copying other people's designs?

Re: The Lives and Deaths of RC Companies
I'd rather see a company change to fit the market, AE had the right idea selling to Thunder Tiger over letting HH buy them out. Looking back in the early to mid 2000s, I feel like there was more variety before a number of the smaller companies were scooped up and gutted out, or lawsuited out of exis...

Re: Traxxas Lineup 1995
My first hobby grade was a Rustler like that one, MSC, no slipper clutch, 20t Stinker, bushings in the bellcrank/hub...it didn't see much use, until I tried to revive it. What's really silly is seeing designs this antiquated with VXL systems and promises of 60mph+ on the box. The Stampede is hard to...

Re: Help identifying an old graphite chassis
The second one looks like it's the remains of a Panda-Monium! Pretty cool buggy when they're complete... somehow I dont think this one will ever achieve that status. It was in pretty bad shape, the gesrbox was badically unusable. What makes me think that it was a Nikko/Cat is that there was another...

Help identifying an old graphite chassis
I picked up a bundle of varuous RC10 parts, and one of them came with thia grqphite chassis. Does anyone know who made it? It only has holes for a 6-speed, so its pre-stealth https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/uploads/monthly_2024_06/IMG_4451.jpg.394c1a7beefd7fcf1c6cc07c5da241b5.jpg Also, just for lau...

Re: Hot Trick Red Fox (Tamiya Fox conversion)
I wish we ran a vintage class around my area, I have a handful of vintage Tamiyas I could run but this would be on a different level!

Re: Hot Trick Red Fox (Tamiya Fox conversion)
Posting up two pictures of my runner. First picture of a setup from a race on carpet where only original wheels were allowed. Used a fresh set of Schumacher full spike yellow and removed the spikes for carpet racing. Would really recommend the Schumacher tires for the original Fox wheels - for the ...

Re: Hot Trick Red Fox (Tamiya Fox conversion)
Just want to give a second opinion on body work for the Red Fox. The original Fox body is small compared to many other 1/10 scale buggies, and designed to wrap around the original monocoque chassis. Seems to be more or less a brim full conversion. Upper and lower rear arms, chassis, steering kit, f...

Re: Hot Trick Red Fox (Tamiya Fox conversion)
Pretty much a "Holy Grail"...I hope u do it justice with a full documented resto!...if not u need to sell it to me and I will! It really wouldn't need much as far as I can tell, just new tires/wheels and a Fox (or "Novafox") shell, shock oil...just a bit annoying that Tamiya end...

Re: Hot Trick Red Fox (Tamiya Fox conversion)
Hot Trick was an aftermarket parts company that most used flat metal plates (I think typically aluminum) for replacement parts. That looks like a Tamiya Fox that got the plastic chassis replaced with the Hot Trick kit. Well, maybe is started out as a Tamiya Fox. There's a few RC10 parts in the mix ...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
Oh yeah, they are complete trash imo and they will never get a penny from me. I was only referring to the fact they actually finally made it clear what their beef was. I mean, they tried to sue HBO Max. Come on. Once mine break (or I get bored) I'll probably sell my Traxxas stuff, I try to sway oth...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
If I have any problem with Traxxas, it's how they treat LHS's more than anything else. They will bully them if they don't sell enough chargers/batteries, or if they carry parts for competitors. As far as I know they've done nothing to RPM, but Jconcepts (and likely Proline) have to play the "Fo...
