Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
Its been a while, but I finally got somewhat of a handle on this thing. Reducing the steering rate really helps tame the driving down along with tweaking the throttle linkage and getting used to it. The 2.5 has power to burn and is currently geared 24/58. The 24t clutch bell is the biggest I have be...

Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
This is the final setup. Rustler pipe and header, the exhaust blows under the chassis to the center. The car is an animal to drive on the HPI Vintage tires, the Traxxas 2.5 is way to much for it, geared 24/58 and I feel like it is on par or faster than my Slayer Pro. I have a set of normal low profi...

Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
This project isn't dead, just adult life in the way as usual. Anyway, a friend had a traxxas 2.5 laying around so I have it in the car. Still working out the exhaust situation but getting there, this pic shows it with a Jato header which is all the way against the body.. I have a Rustler header comi...

Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
This whole current DS thing started from seeing the 69 Camaro body at Star Collectibles in Muscatine and my interest in vintage touring muscle cars. I had an electric one from back then but could not find it, must have gotten lost during moving a couple times. So this DS was a marketplace find in Bu...

Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
Here are a few pics of the engine, it does say TOP on the block as well... I took a glance at ebay and didn't see anything for it, but i haven't looked hard. I also haven't gotten around to messing with the starter box more yet either. Yep, spent some time at Rusti's back then. Ran electric off road...

Re: Nitro RC10ds engine questions
Thanks for the info everyone, I am having no luck so far finding anything related to "TOP" engines in my searching... I assume that I need a pull start specifically for that manufacturer though? My friend does have another wheel for the starter box we will probably try to see if it is soft...

Nitro RC10ds engine questions
Hey there, I'm putting together an old Nitro DS that I picked up to relive my earlier RC days now that I have adult money lol. Anyways, it came with an engine in it. Says "TOP Engines" on the carb body and has I think cs12 on the side of the block. Would this have been an original engine? ...
