Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider
The build is looking great! I have a rere Buggy Champ on the to be built shelf. Thanks for documenting the build and sharing your thoughts and tips along the way. I'm glad you pointed out the issue with the missing lettering on the front tires. I purchased a Super Champ and it just happened to have...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider
In the reissue Buggy Champ manual, there is no blue version shown, only the TS-12 Orange. https://i.imgur.com/9cA37xu.jpeg The reason for that, I believe, is because they only wanted to have to make one set of decals. The white stripes with the orange decal scheme built-in: https://i.imgur.com/PKJAS...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider
Funny you should say that, I was thinking about taking that exact front bumper from the Sand Scorcher, for the Rough Rider: https://i.imgur.com/PZsbWde.jpg and getting the more box art shaped front bumper for the SS. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/EyUAAOSwwbdWMUNr/s-l1600.jpg https://tamiyabase.com/...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider
After 10 years of using the same phone, a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, I just switched to the newest S25 Ultra - the pictures have a blur to them now - looks worse to me in every instance in low light pictures. I need to figure out how to fix this. The build has begun. https://i.imgur.com/UMftb2j.jpg htt...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
3D printing is incredible! But I don't think this roof can be smoothed out, this Bus model was pretty inaccurate/rough overall, was worth the experiment though. https://i.imgur.com/PDjoh0V.jpg Got the wheels on the 3D Buggy, calling this done. https://i.imgur.com/Vy3vIzD.jpg Thanks again XLR8 for yo...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?
Finally found vintage Tamiya Rough Rider front tires. Ebay seller's pics: on the way here from Hong Kong. https://i.imgur.com/7vZGy86.png Only needed those front tires, but will use the rear too. Have the vintage Rough Rider decals from MCI, that will all go on a 2009 reissue "Buggy Champ"...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Thanks! I didn't use percentages when scaling, just typed in an absolute number for both parts on the Y-axis. I'll measure the body first, and make the difference up on the roof next time.
This model might be good for road running, or demolition derby, but it's not shelf worthy unfortunately

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
There were some artifacts in the print from my bed possibly being a bit out of level still. I may try to remove the last 0.55mm of left-to-right leveling, to see if I can get the bed perfectly even/flat. Then I can blame something else for causing these defects :) In order to keep the roof and the b...
