Any idea how close the modern orange is to original? I would like to keep the cage but if the color shade matches then I could swap out the damaged pieces. That would save me a lot of work.

Re: Kyosho Javelin Arrives in KY
Undercarriage definitely needs some tlc. Pinion gear has seen better days as well. Can anyone help me identify this motor? "Epic" & "5.0" are on end cap, but no name or markings. Also, is there a way to determine if this Javelin was sold as a kit or if it started life as an O...

Re: Kyosho Javelin Arrives in KY
I started disassembly. The cage definitely wasn't made for quick removal. You can see the damage needing addressed in the pictures. The side bars of cage were installed on the wrong sides, upside down.

Kyosho Javelin Arrives in KY
I'm so pumped to add another childhood dream machine to the RC garage. I couldn't believe I found this buggy close to me. I thought it may be a rere, but after seeing it in person, I knew it was an original. The cage and frame needs some attention but the Option House add-ons give it the period corr...

Unknown RC10 Composite Oval Racing Chassis
Can anyone identify this chassis? The buggy was definitely upgraded to race but no identifiers on frame. The name "Otterstein" (I think) is scratched into the surface but I doubt it has anything to do with who made the chassis. Edit: I think I've answered my own question. It looks like a C...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I bought a RC10 parts lot and these front a-arms were included in the purchase. I can't find any information about them. I tried searching on here, on Google and with Google lens. The arms seem well designed except the hinge pin holes are off-center. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

I don't have permission to all the forums yet. If this is posted in the wrong place please move it or just delete. I'm beginning to learn about the different progressions the original RC10 undertook during its production. I was lucky enough to view an incredible collection of RC10s over the weekend...

Re: Cool RC10 Progression Example... imo
I've seen/had the gray hard anodized shocks with black aluminum and black plastic caps, and gold shocks with gold aluminum and black plastic caps, but hadn't personally come across the gold with black aluminum caps. From the RC10 sticky, it seems the Zebra CE kits came with black aluminum caps on g...

That's a good tip. With the white plastic parts still pretty bright, I want to preserve them as well as possible.
So much to learn...

Re: Possible Zebra RC10 CE... help requested
Thanks everyone. Sometimes it's better to be luck than good. Is the body a Protech II? I may try to find a new body and have it done like the box art. Otherwise, I'll probably do a detailing of the mechanicals and leave it original. Viper body. IMO if you aren't going to run the buggy then there's ...

Re: Possible Zebra RC10 CE... help requested
Very difficult to track down a build date. You have a Late RC10 CE that stores were selling discounted at that point. Racers were buying World's Kits or the "other" Brand  I would tear that car down and rebuild it paying close attention to the Manual. Looks like it may have been bu...

Re: Possible Zebra RC10 CE... help requested
Hard to say exactly what year you have there, but I would agree with '94-'95 zebra kit, '96 was the last year, and has all black plastics. The late kits are great, and so is the Stealth transmission. Congrats! Does the black aluminum shock caps help narrow down the production date? Also, is there a...
