Re: Project Unnecessary Metal: Shelfer Build
Wow! That looks spectacular. I especially like the wheels. It seems like you purposely avoided factory blue parts where possible... except for the 8-32 countersunk screws for the steering links. I did a similar build (though not as nice as yours) using the Atlas steering links and looked everywhere ...

Re: Black and White and Gold all Over
TC, I do like those wheels, but aren't the rears for 1/4" axles? I've converted to 3/16" B2/B3 CVD.

Yeah, ran out of long turnbuckles, plus the built in offset helps clear my servo.drbelleville wrote:Man that is pretty clean, like the attention to detail, with the washers and all. Is that a J-Concept ball joint on the steering turnbuckle?

Re: Black and White and Gold all Over
Can you tell me about the 'Atlas' steering linkage? I believe he's a forum member who makes these and other parts. When I got them off eBay, I didn't make the connection until I saw some other people call them 'Atlas' parts. (I hope this is all correct...) http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35...

Re: Black and White and Gold all Over (Updated Pics 9/26)
Some more work was done on this car in the last few months: -Trimmed the nose plate -Bleeder caps (really like these) -Associated wide track front arms (decided I liked the way they look better than RPM) -'Atlas' steering linkage (also really like these) -Whitened parts -Some orange washers from Axi...

Re: Fresh out of the attic after 15 years
Make sure you get 2.2" truck tires, not buggy. These would be the replacement wheels. Also available in black. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2948&P=7 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2949&P=7 If you are going to get new wheels and tires, mi...

Re: My new runner
Looks great! I've got nearly the same project going that is at exactly the same stage (converting 10T to a "what's old is new" 10). I'm curious as to what your plan is for your steering arms...

Re: RC10T Team Truck picture
The shell on the left is from the original 7001 10T Race Truck. The one in the middle is from the 10T Team Truck. It's significantly narrower.
Please ignore the brutal paint jobs on those two.

Re: Craiglist RC10T ... bringing back to life
The RPM conversion will come with the tranny housing and a new top shaft. You will need to re-use everything from your stealth except those parts. Sounds like you were thinking of a 17T motor, which the stealth (or RPM) can easily handle. The advantage of the 2.65 RPM is that the transmission does m...

I love a well made documentary, from the looks of the pinball trailer, that one will be fantastic. At the risk of hijacking this thread has anyone seen "Anvil! the story of Anvil"? Picture Spinal Tap, only it's a true story. Maybe some of you remember these guys? http://www.anvilthemovie.c...

Welcome!
The dogbones might be difficult to find new. You can always upgrade to CVDs, which are still available:

That chassis looks amazing... giving me lots of ideas. Did you just mask the spots to expose the black anodize? Or layer the powder?
