Re: Russ' Rides
Here's my 2023 update.... Just when you think I'm done, I get sucked in again. Front: Scratch-built tractor and rotary cutter, with Axial gearbox and rear end. Back, L-R: 6 gear RC10, original, with re-re chassis, CVAs and RPM suspension arms (Shelf Queen) 6 gear, original, with traxxas caster/steer...

Re: Things that I sold, and now regret.
I gave away my 6-gear roller to a neighbor kid about 25 years ago, because I wasn't aware of any parts availability....If anything, I wanted a few parts back - Losi bellcrank, solid brass nose tubes, aluminum transmission bearing carrier, and Racemaster delrin 2.0 rims.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Rainy day here, so I disassembled, cleaned and lubed the transmission on my 6-gear runner....After my latest runs, I figured it at least needed an inspection.

Re: The "Golden Age of RC" meaning
For me, it was the 80's...The RC10 was wildly popular, and there were countless aftermarket companies making parts. Hobby shops were everywhere, and new products seemed to be coming out every week. I was living in Houston at the time, and I remember 9 tracks in the general area. Organized racing was...

Re: Today, A Stupid Person...
...Said stupid person then feels the need to ride my arse, so I get back to the right lane ASAP. Said stupid person hovers around my rear quarter panel, then slacks off and eventually drifts back. I don't get it, I just don't get it. Whenever I go to Texas, I find several like that on I-10, empty h...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
A friend of mine bought a used Slash and wanted me to see if I could fix the body. Personally, I would've trashed it and started over. Anyway, I stripped the paint from the outside and cleaned up the cuts (which looked like it was done with a rusty hacksaw). I fabricated a new bed from styrene, repl...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
How a question or comment is worded will change how it is perceived. If you start with "I've broken this POS three times and this is junk", it'll be perceived as a rant. Unfortunately, the internet is full of whiney bitches. If you clearly state your problem or ask about what can or can't...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
It's not so much about bashing Traxxas, but looking for improvement suggestions for their products. Of course, it will be a biased site when they shut down anything less than glowing about their product... I understand there are people out there who just want to start trouble, especially in this day...

I used metallic burgundy and backed it with metallic gunmetal, giving it a cranberry metal flake look. Very 80's.
Very nice! I like the simplicity of the scheme. Very classy.
