Re: Team Car with gold tub?
Thanks. I was pretty sure that was the case. I think it even calls it out on the side of the box.

Team Car with gold tub?
I've only ever seen or owned Team Cars with black tubs. It what's featured on the "color corrected" box as well the ad copy. Someone claimed they had a gold tub Team Car and possibly remembers others from that era as well. Just to further my knowledge, has there ever been an original gold ...

Re: Rere Team car spotted at SEMA
I'll be honest, I don't get it. We get a 10T with the wrong shocks (unless it was supposed to be an RC10ST) and now a Team car with the wrong tub. I hear rumors on a podcast that colored tubs were making a comeback. Seeing the news of the green variant, I figured they might base a whole buggy around...

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?
I found that interesting to about early CATs too. Same with the front of the AYK Pro Radiant. There is much about the Avante suspension/steering design and geometry that is puzzling. Rear toe might have calmed some that platform's nervous handling. Why did the Avante series have no kick-up with onl...

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?
Totally agree. Things are fairly boring today compared to the interesting ideas and concepts of yesteryear. Its one of the reasons I'll always be faithful to Tamiya. They still do some things differently.

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?
The Boomerang (and hence the Bigwig and Super Sabre and possibly HS2, I would assume since they share the same rear suspension design on the Hotshot series) are rumored to have a degree of rear toe over the Hotshot/Supershot. The Thundershot series oversteers from several choices made in its design,...

Thanks for the tip on dyeing the shocks. I've got a pair of Double Dares and my shocks have "pinked" as well.

rerelease Ulitma suggested spares
Are there any weak spots or suggested spares to pick up for the Ultima rerelease kit while they are available? (spurs gears, arms, uprights, anything, etc.) I've read the chassis could at times bend. Is this only in severe crash situations? Would a Factory Works fiberglass upper chassis deck be a go...

What factors led to the Ultima's win at the '87 Worlds?
The title pretty much says it all. Why did Kyosho's new Ultima dominate the '87 Worlds? Was Associated too overconfident or taken by surprise? Did the track suit the Ultima's design better? Was it all just down to tires? Any thoughts?

Kickup angles throughout time
Just out of curiosity, how/why did manufacturers decide or settle on particular kickup angles for their buggies? The RC10 started with 30 degrees but its first major rival, the Ultima, only had 20. The JRX2 also ran a 20 but the follow up JRX-Pro was back up to 30. Was there a benefit ether way or s...

Re: Innovative attempts to create rear toe-in or kick-up in RC?
I was thinking that too. Keeping the original plastic, fixed trailing arm arrangement of the Egress would just require additional holes drilled to add some rear toe. It would great to see some 3D printed (metal preferably) Booth-style front arm mounts but these would cause issue when used on the re-...

Re: Innovative attempts to create rear toe-in or kick-up in RC?
Considering the cars you brought up, the Vanquish and Egress, I had similar questions in my youth. The Avante was supposed to be this highly adjustable car but in reality the effectiveness of those adjustments is questionable. Adapting Avante rear trailing arms to the Vanquish/Egress could provide a...
