Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
Unless they are edumbacted, once it breaks they'll prob throw it in the closet and never use it again..... that's what society has gotten used to and always does. Yeah, people are like that with all sorts of stuff. I've only ever bought 2 PCs, and I am 35 years old and a computer scientist to boot....

Re: now THAT was innovation (Cross Boss)
I remember those last two :) It doesn't seem like that long ago though, late 90s as opposed to 80s, right? Going even more modern, right up to today, my son has one of these little Maisto Rock Crawler Jrs: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u429/gpowerf/lmaic1162.jpg It is very basic, and the steer...

Re: now THAT was innovation (Cross Boss)
Man! I miss the 80s
That Cross Boss is really quite something! Not sure how well it would REALLY work, or if it would actually get over stuff that a toy grade rock crawler wouldn't... But the bridge action is still hella cool!!!

That looks amazing, both of them!
I really like how incredibly simple these cars look. One day, seriously one day I will have one![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
Do you guys remember the Sears catalog? It would come out just before the holidays. It had Tamiya buggies in it, I remember the Grasshopper, Frog and Fox for sure, maybe a Blackfoot and Boomerang too. Interesting, coz Traxxas kind of is the new Tamiya in terms of its market penetration and sheer pe...

Somehow I don't think all those girls are entirely natural anywayCoelacanth wrote:...become tatted grammas.scr8p wrote:tatted chicks.........![]()
I agree, I hate to see beautiful skin on a pretty frame all inked up. It takes away from the natural beauty now, and decades later, they just look ridiculous.

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
All those shops are stuffed with are Chevy 350 Funny you say that coz I've equated Traxxas to Chevy before in terms of parts availability and swappability of components between cars. I'd like to think my Camaro performs better than my Bandit though ;) At least here in the UK hobby shops are in such...

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
You guys are jumping to all sorts of conclusions. How did you get started in r/c? I started with one of these: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u429/gpowerf/yellowshack.jpg A Radio Shack monster truck with no suspension or proportional controls, it rocked!!! I loved that truck. I wish I still ha...

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
a lot of these will be the type who saw the flashy boxes and then wonder why they can't exchange their truck after bouncing it off of a fire hydrant at 50 miles an hour lol HAHA! Yeah, that's exactly what it will be like. You see the type regularly in more Traxxas centric forums, outraged that they...

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
all the while cutting the throats of your local hobby shop  The kind of person that goes and buys an RC car in a shop like that doesn't even know a hobby shop exists. Traxxas is great at targeting this sort of person, the kind of person that doesn't know much about RC cars and is impressed by...

Re: Traxxas...I'm hilariously horrified!
I don't see anything wrong with hobby grade RCs being available outside hobby shops.
But I do cringe a little at the idea of dropping an RC car off for a service somewhere (the last video)... I DO want to spend till 1am fixing my car, coz I will do it better than some dude in a store.

Re: NIB TRX-1
Nice!!!! :) I used to like the TRX-3 best, but the more I see TRX-1s the more I like them over the TRX-3. It is the simplicity that does it, the chassis is just so clean and simple! It is interesting that by those dimensions at 251mm width (or even worse track width, which means actual width is even...

Re: What are you running in your local races
Ok, do I need to consider buying a different car rather that a Traxxas just to keep from getting ragged on? Not at all dude. When I first considered racing I contacted the club and told them exactly what I would be racing and I was told that I was more than welcome and that the Bandit was a fine ch...

Re: What are you running in your local races
Not too well yet to be honest, I'm never the slowest, but I am one of the slow ones. I'm very new at racing, so the Bandit isn't the only thing holding me back, I need to get better too. The good thing is that the way Bandit is set up now is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than its first track outing. It now ...
