Thank you Mr. Ed.
This is what I have so far on making my custom chassis.
The strips on the sides will be attached with short countersunk screws.

Re: Kyosho Outrage: restored to life
Mr. Lexan has a section in the Buy/sell/trade area where he sells several vintage bodies. Once your post count goes up you'll get acces to that section. Otherwise there's allways the Parma alternative: 1/10 BUG w/Wing - Clear Body - #10340 Mine's trimmed a bit at the fenders and rear, but you get t...

Re: Kyosho Outrage: restored to life
I managed to get in touch with Mr. Lexan, he sent me a link to his Bug bodies. Very nice, but I decided to keep the body I have. I have decided to attempt making a new chassis using aluminum from scratch. (Mr. Ed, if you do send that chassis that is fine, I may need it as a back up if plan A fails.)...

Re: Kyosho Outrage: restored to life
Thanks guys, I was pretty pleased with the results. I do feel that the wheel base on the car is a tad short for the body, but it isn't easy trying to pick out the right body when pretty much everything is online and you can't see it on your car until you get it. Oh well. And Mr. Ed, I don't know any...

Re: Kyosho Outrage: restored to life
I think the next step is to replace the plastic connecting rods that it uses for the front and rear and the steering tie rods with adjustable turnbuckles so that I will have some control to adjust the alignment of the wheels. I have toyed around with the idea of fabricating my own aluminum chassis f...

Kyosho Outrage: restored to life
My 12 year old Kyosho outrage has spent the last few years of it's life sitting in the closet. Recently I decided to bring it back to life. I started with taking it completely apart and cleaning it. I then rebuilt it using all Avid bearings in the differential and for the wheels. http://i1101.photob...

Re: First Ultima Ever!
I'll have to start looking for a chassis then. :) I'm going to have to take pictures so I can open a thread on it. I am also working on a Tamiya DF02. Bought it as a Monster XX truck from Target for $99 ($43 out of pocket as I had a gift card). I like it but it is all plastic as well. Since I would ...

Re: First Ultima Ever!
Hi guys, I'm new here. Signed up just because of this thread in fact. I have an old Outrage that was purchased as a "Stadium Baja Beetle" about 12 years ago. I recently bug it out of the closet and decided to rebuild it. I tore it all down, cleaned it up, ordered all new bearings and a new...
