Re: NOVAK NEC-1 Constant Current Temperature Charger

Just a heads up to RC10Talk folks one of these popped up this morning in new condition. I'm not in a position to make a move on it - not cheap but if you have to have it... go search for it.

Re: ** Hopelessly Incomplete Project of the Month - April 2025 **

Had a thought.... someone could win the trifecta. Start with the POS of the month, then continue to fix it up like you've been planning all these years to take the hopelessly incomplete title, and then finish it in all its glory and win BOTM. :) I think I'd have a good shot here with my decades in t...

Re: What is it now Team Associated?!

It would be cool just for display to tow your RC10 - but then there's not much detail at all on the body it's just a shell. I guess it's meant to be run but I have no desire whatsoever to drive that thing around.

Re: Found some amazing vintage parts!

Now THAT is an absolute score. That's likely over 2k value in today's money. Also they're not even oxidized much being in the packaging. NICE.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

A new in box Airtronics SR radio. Why you ask? Well as much as I liked those OG Futaba Attack's back in the day... when my parents allowed me to buy a Grasshopper in 1986 at Hobby Town in Hanover, MA I wasn't going to ask questions. I decided to wait for a cheap NIB one to come up as I'm also going ...

Re: WLToys curiosity project

What about parts? Do you need to buy 2 for spare parts? Haha. That's actually what I do! You can easily get parts but they're so cheap you can just buy another car and roll into a new one when one is beyond saving, and then still use it for parts. They are awesome for kids, they have the steering t...

Re: Novak Servo ID - And the Histroy of Novak Servos in general?

These are similar to that eBay servo, but not identical. Interesting. That really is pretty much the same thing. I wonder if that one in the auction isn't even a Novak branded servo, since there is no mention of it anywhere. Even though he still may very well have designed it.. I've known of Bob No...

Novak Servo ID - And the Histroy of Novak Servos in general?

So this servo came up on ebay and I had never seen it before. Almost bought it just because but common sense got the better of me. So it got me thinking.. what exactly are Novak servos? Certainly they didn't design and manufacture the core, motor and gears etc? I know that at least the early models ...

Nice win. I threw egalsim a bone.. I'm not even an Ultima fan but that's just one beautiful example. Btw, love the idea of POS of the month!

Re: Tamiya CCP Blackfoot Project Update AKA (Purple Rein)

Nice Blackfoot there! I saw that Novak servo it think it sold for $300. Actually a few of them sold for that this year. Then someone put one up for $400! It's all good, it's worth what someone will pay for it, made me take a look at some of mine to consider selling lol. I'm sure the BF is for the sh...

Re: Twister Motors - number etched on can vs turns etc?

We will have to try to crack the code. I know what a few of mine are supposed to be so that will help, but till now the scratched code doesn't really match up to turns or wind for any of them. There's actually a 3W on eBay now that seller says is 21x3 so will just have to gather data and figure it o...

Re: Twister Motors - number etched on can vs turns etc?

I don't think Twister always marked the cans. I have some with markings, some without. Those could be 11 turn, 12 turn, and 13 turn motors. Whether they are single, double, triple strand, etc winds would probably need to be seen by disassembly though. ok thanks. I'll wait to see if anyone else chim...

Twister Motors - number etched on can vs turns etc?

Question is specific to twister but may be similar or same answer for other brands. Does anyone know how to deduct the winding from the number etched on the can. For example the pic below I have can that are marked '11', '12' and '13' and I don't remember what windings they are. I'd rather not take ...

Re: Hpi wide chassis RC10l

Very nice! And it even has some decent carbon fiber. The late-80's early 90's early HPI had crappy looking carbon fiber much like the early RC10L parts. The epoxy wasn't full/smooth so always has lots of divets and inconsistencies but those particular parts look excellent. Would love to have that e...
