Re: My B3 Project - 15 Years Later
After about 2 years of not driving the car, I finally put it back together and drove it yesterday. Now sporting an older Orion 17.5, Hobbywing ESC, and an Orion servo, the car is super fun to drive on the new carpet track. This car rotates so quickly compared to the mid motor cars, and, ironically, ...

Re: My B3 Project - 15 Years Later
broodenburg, Chris drives for AE at a lot of the regional race events. He really liked the B3, saying it was very easy to drive. We were using some older batteries though, so the car didn't have enough power to make some of the feature jumps throughout the entire race. I've moved to the B4 hex front...

Re: Reedy Race with RC10 demo class
Looks like Kinwald was running the reedy shorty pack, with the battery cup moved back to compensate. Looks pretty cool!

Re: Reedy Race with RC10 demo class
Cool to see people excited about the RC10, let alone having some of the top dogs battle it out! Found some under-hood shots of Kinwalds car, not sure if they've been posted here or not, but since he's using this car at the reedy, I'll post them: https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/t31/1...

Re: My B3 Project - 15 Years Later

Team Associated's Chris Nealeigh gave his B4.2 to a local racer, and decided to drive my B3 today. TQ'ed over 13 other drivers, and won the 2nd main. I think he wants one....

Re: Mayor RC/NIXconcepts Carbon Fiber Rear/Mid Motor B3 Proj
Shapeways parts arrived just before I left for Christmas vacation....Absolutely cannot wait to get home from a few weeks away to start building. I mocked up the trans, motor, and servo in the car, looks like I'll have a ton of room to play around. Appears most bodies will not fit due to the width an...

Re: Mayor RC/NIXconcepts Carbon Fiber Rear/Mid Motor B3 Proj
Finally received notification that my parts were being shipped from shapeways....Only took them about 3.5 weeks to make them.
Hoping to receive them this week! I'll be out of town for a few weeks for holidays, so this might be the last update for a bit!

Yes, I'm running 2 weights in the front bulkhead. The extra weight in the chassis is something I experimented with last winter that I'll be revisiting soon

Re: My B3 Project - 15 Years Later
For low bite, the non carbon parts are the way to go. The carbon parts really stiffen the overall car making it actually decrease traction allowing the tire to do all the work. On a loose surface you need all the grip you can, so the "softer" plastics actually work better by allowing the c...
