Re: transmitter decision

I got a futaba magnum jr. around 1986, which worked until it got stolen around 2000. Then I had a cheap but glitchy jr for a year. I replaced it with a futaba 3pk, which is what I'm using now. I have no idea if the radios you mentioned are any good, but I don't think you'll regret spending some mone...

Re: Powder Painting

They typically charge by the square inch, but there is a minimum charge because of the time it takes to clean up, and general aggravation of just doing one of something. Also, there is a minimum quantity of powder they can buy. I specify powder coat on many of the parts I design at work, but I'm not...

Re: losi 22 rear wheels on 6 gear

Thanks for the heads up!
I did some more research, and I'm going to use one of the setups from the woin thread with klein arms. That should let me use my 22 buggy wheels on the rc10ce.
For fronts, I'm going to use the same wheels as the world's rerelease.

losi 22 rear wheels on 6 gear

I've been running my early 6 gear CE with the jconcepts wheels/tires, and I'd like to try some modern stuff. I've read the thread about 2.2s, and it seems there is some problem with the b4 upright and b44 cvd combo on the 6 gear, but is there a workaround? Also, I think losi 22 and b4 hex wheels hav...

Re: Help Me Rebuild My Original RC10

I had the same motor problem! I ended up filing the slot. I think the previous poster wants you to use different holes in the motor, not the plate.
As for the mesh, wedge a strip of paper between the gears, tighten, then remove the paper. That's how much pay there should be.

Re: Help Me Rebuild My Original RC10

I'm geared 22/76 on my 6 gear with jconcepts classic tires. It isn't like bicycle gearing because electric motors lose torque with rpm. Bigger pinions basically give more performance all around, but make the motor /esc hotter. I'd start with a 20 tooth.

Re: help me out please guys 1980s rc 10

Your trans is called a "6 gear", the later one is the "stealth". They are different, so make sure to get the correct bearings. I put a hobbywing justock 17.5 combo in mine. It was a little over $100 for motor and Speedo. 17.5 is legal to race in stock class, but you could use a m...

Re: help me out please guys 1980s rc 10

Cool car! I have almost the same one, it's an early championship edition from around '90 - '92. I have the jconcepts tires, they're very soft and sticky. That lube won't work, it's meant to keep diff gears from turning. Plastic gears shouldn't need lube, but if you want to use something, use black g...

Re: Vintage RC10, not sure what 'edition'...please help

That's a nice car! I recently came into a similar condition one but with the wider arms. I refuse to drill holes in mine, but you will need a #31 drill (.120") if you decide to do yours.
