Re: RC28 modding
Your learning curve on Fusion will definitely be super short then. I've used ProE for many year, and SolidWorks before that and i feel like Fusion is really good. Ive used other free packages like Sketchup, FreeCAD, etc, and i thought they were complete crap, at least for my uses. You'll have a litt...

Re: RC28 modding
Thanks guys. I designed shock collars and printed them in white. I also designed a new bulkhead that looks more reminiscent of RC10 front arm mounts. I still want to make some changes to it, but you get the idea. It also leaves room for a body post in front of it, just like a real RC10. I printed it...

Re: RC28 modding
really nice work! Maybe if you are redoing the bulkhead, you can give the nose a little kickup. The tower stands pretty upright. Thanks man! Yeah, the front kickup has been bothering me, it's only about 8 degrees. I need to pull the donor car apart and have a closer look at the steering and see wha...

Re: RC28 modding
The gold ABS filament came in today. I was in too much of a hurry to see how the shock bodies and pan looked to do any design changes, i just printed the same versions from above. Shocks. I also plan to make white adjustable shock collars as well. 20180628_223455.jpg The gold filament is a pretty da...

Re: Getting the big Fairlane back on the road.... Going the whole 9 inches
That is what I read about liquid filled gauges, every 30 degrees or so will change the reading about 1 PSI, so the hotter the gauge gets the lower the pressure reads. Thats why I'm keen to try this gauge because one, I've got nothing, and two the pressure relief valve lets you equalize the internal...

Re: Getting the big Fairlane back on the road.... Going the whole 9 inches
FYI, I havent had good luck with liquid filled pressure gauges in the engine compartment. At least in my experience, they are very sensitive to temperature and the reading can change a lot as a result. I chased my tail on fuel pressure drifting for a long time before someone else told me about that ...

Re: RC28 modding
haha... I was about to say the lack of gold colored filament from Shapeways wasn't a deal breaker but since you've mentioned this: "The gold ABS filament looks really good, looks like it would be a pretty close match to AE gold anno. A guy at work brought something in he had printed with it an...

Re: RC28 modding
Thanks guys! One way or another I'll make everything available. Shapeways doesnt have gold color material (other than actual gold  ), closest they have is yellow. If it doesnt look good then I'll print them myself to sell. Of course the white and/or black parts from Shapeways will look good, ...

Re: RC28 modding
I've continued to work on this here and there. I decided to go ahead and make a new proper looking chassis for it. This is just a "rough draft", i still need to add mounting holes, servo mounting, suspension mounts, etc. I plan to get gold ABS filament for the pan and the shocks. 20180621_...

Re: RC10LSO that I couldn't pass up
Vinegar? Is it really just that simple? Is the bath in Liquid Wrench necessary beforehand? Yes, soaking them in 100% white vinegar dissolves the rust. I thought the liquid wrench would have taken off all the rust but didn't. It did help with the removal of the screws but simply wasn't strong enough...

Lots of amazing builds this month, but Shodog's rail stands above the rest for me.
