Re: Building my RC10 Graphite into a modern 13.T buggy

Well the buggy is almost ready. Forgot to take pictures during the process so no build pics. I added custom side rails to allow for a shorty lipo with about 3/4" adjustment front to back. Custom battery hold down using stainless steel bolts, plastic sleeves and brass thumb screws. The battery p...

Re: Building my RC10 Graphite into a modern 13.T buggy

One step forward. Two steps back. Got the front of the chassis glued up. Just need to CA the edges. Tomorrow is hole and scratch filling day Started to tear apart the Stealth and remove the Losi Hydra Drive. Cleaned everything up and now the bearings don't want to come out of the case. Don't want to...

Building my RC10 Graphite into a modern 13.T buggy

So I have managed to sell enough of my old stuff to finance new electronics. LIpo, charger, Esc, and motor. But I haven't raised the funds for a new car yet. So I am going to build my Graphite into a capable race machine. :) The before picture: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bnrN4QewYBl2S-WiLwS07...

Re: Getting back into racing and have questions?

OK. I now have a plan. I am going to update and race my RC10 Graphite in our local 13.5 class. I am going to be selling most of my RC10 and other vintage equipment over the next month in order to finance the acquisition of modern electronics. The RC10 will be offered here first. I posted an album a ...

Re: Getting back into racing and have questions?

Thanks for the replys. I am just looking to have fun and get back into the fraternity of RC racing. Don't expect to win or be competitive just don't want to get in the way. Back in the day I was a good off-road driver, but the new tracks are just weird. Traction compound on dirt? Makes my head hurt ...

Getting back into racing and have questions?

A little background. Raced rc10 20 years ago. Local, had fun, and ran into the whole time and money issue. Put the car away. 10 years later, get back into racing but on-road. TC3 Team. Local, had fun and ran into the family time issue. Put the car away. So now on to the current situation. Moved to m...

Re: Hanibel unpacks his RC garage

I started this thread with the intention of either getting back into racing or selling it all. And now things have changed. I may be changing jobs and moving in the next 3-4 months so I have decided to pack it all back up and take it with me. There is a track near where we are moving and hopefully I...

Re: The story of how this body ended up looking this way

This was long ago. Most likely didn't wash it well enough. And I don't know if anyone crashed as much as I did that night. It was a tight technical track. and I had not practiced with the new chassis and motor. I do remember that I had to turn my throttle sensitivity almost to zero in order to final...

The story of how this body ended up looking this way

Here is a picture of my HPI Micro Rs4. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-uPLMcRuCyDc/VTLO6muGwbI/AAAAAAAAPdo/aurg65yawNw/w931-h698-no/IMG_20150418_140830.jpg I had gotten a new chassis to be more competitive and the old body, the Ferrari in the background, would not fit. So I ran to the hobby shop ...

Re: Need Help with Making Decals

There are a variety of printers available that can print with white ink. However, they are expensive and the cost per sq. inch is high. Most high end sign shops will have a printer that can handle the job, but they don't like doing smaller jobs. You could also see if there is a vinyl wrap business n...

Re: I really want to get back into racing but...

Both have their pros and cons. I tend to like the grooved tracks as your car stays much cleaner, lap times are more consistant and driving a dialed car on a gripped up track is a feeling like no other. Cars today are way to complicated, I liked the days when set up options were limited. I think tha...

I really want to get back into racing but...

I just don't like the way that the new "offroad" tracks are conditioned. Hard pack, blue line, yuck. I have been looking at the tire selections and ground clearance setups posted by local drivers. They are closer to my TC3 setup sheets than my RC10. I saw some recommendations to run slicks...

Re: The future of vintage

Vintage is as vintage does. :) I think that each generation values old items differently. Most of it is nostalgia based. I am planning on moving. Started to go through my boxes. Found my old RC cars. Started to reminisce about the good time. Came here to find like mined people. And now I want to sta...
