Re: The dog thread

I'm really sorry for your loss Dadio, it's always difficult saying goodbye to a pet that has been a part of the family for any length of time. We used to live in Alabama a few years ago and there was a shelter nearby that had a pretty high euthanasia rate. Before we even moved down there, a friend o...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - May 2021 ** - Winner - LTO_Dave

That is an impressive build Steve! 50lbs! That took some time and patience to complete. It deserves to be included!

Some 1/5 scale dusty donuts

Weather is finally nice today so got the custom 1/5 scale out for a run. Gotta love how much dust this big ol' 50lb truck kicks up. I looked like I had walked a mile through the desert by the time I got done running it  Think I finally have just about all the little bugs worked out now. Got abo...

10 years later

Had one of those "memory" picture pop up on my facebook feed today. First pic was me about 10 years ago at 403 lbs 😬 Picture below it is me today at 213lbs (190lbs lighter). Sometimes I wonder if I had not made the lifestyle changes I made over the past 10 years if I would even be around t...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

They are lighting up our falls this week with a cool light show. “Shoshone Falls after dark”. The videos are better than the pics but I can’t easily upload the videos here, and someone would definitely call me out for posting a video in a pic thread so here are my pics of the day

Mind-blowing moment!

I just realized that I may have the very first XXT I ever drove and the chassis for the first one I owned. See when SoCal Raceway closed I helped them clean it out the next day. Part of the things I took home was a first gen XXT. One day when the track was in Garden Grove, I put my Stampede in the N...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)

I think if I were planning to run one I'd change the rear to use two shocks to preserve the chassis . I intend to do some reinforcement. At minima, I would put a link between the two shock towers to help the forces partition. Eventually, that link would be also tied with the rear gear box cover (ag...

Re: Marui Samurai - for the track

...and here is the car, finally starting to look as i had imagined it complete with a variation on the blobby paint scheme and layered stickers. Bit different to red anyway. New wheels and tyres on, just a second battery strap to source. Always loved the look of these. I do have a brand new ladder c...

Mardave Meteor prototype/press car

I was certain I had already posted this up on here, but i cannot for the life of me find any sign of a post so here it is again just in case. The Meteor was more of a British thing but a manufacturer called Mardave. These were very popular cars as they offered a very very low-cost avenue into relati...

Re: My original and sad looking 870c

Had a bit of a renewed interest in getting this old girl back together and up and running after having uncovered the footage of me racing her at the Oswestry Radio Race Car round in 1991. Mainly just down to cleaning up the bulkheads and motor mount really, as they had tarnished a little over the ye...

Putting the Turbo in my Turbo Raider (Brushless Upgrade!)

I put a $37 Surpass Hobby 9T 4370 brushless combo in it and it got the much needed kick in the pants it needed! The power is just about perfect now! While the top end was pretty good, it had really poor acceleration after going from the stock gearing (46 tooth idle gear and 14 tooth pinion) to a 42 ...

Re: 'Rusty' the Pro Radiant

Just realised that I haven't updated this thread in a while... the car has had a couple of additions since I ran it in torrential rain at the Revival.... The first thing I did immediately after that weekend was track down and fit an undertray to protect the electrics from the typical UK summer weath...
