Re: GV (Great Vigor) Hunter 1:8 4WD Nitro Buggy?

I think a typical Arrma 6S center diff and mount is going to fit nicely in this. I think I can get it all mounted up with no mods to the front driveshaft. The rear ds is a one off piece with a specialized bevel gear in the rear diff, and as it came with a coupler on the shaft stock, I will continue ...

Re: Intro - My RC10 Runner Project

I throw all of the plastic and fiberglass bits into a gallon bag, fill 2/3 or so with hot water and a little Dawn. Place bag in a casserole dish in case the bag leaks. Change out the soapy water every now and then, and do this for 2-3 days. Hydrates the nylon, and gets the cleaning process started f...

Re: Have Good News - Please post it here

I had major emergency abdominal surgery 3 years ago, and when I woke after the operations (unconscious for the full first month), I discovered my ankles and feet were now paralyzed. At the time, we lived in a small house, and all my RC gear was in my workshop in the basement, where I now had no way ...

Re: Associated 05 modified

.05 was a rating given to the 540 class motors back in the day. I suspect it was a rough comparison of its power to a nitro engine. There were many other sizes, Astroflite for example had .035’s, .05’s, and 40’s.

Re: Associated 05 modified

Directly quoting a previous post from motor guru Mike Haswell.... '...when they ran 1/12th with gas/IC engines they couldn't exceed 0.5 size engines (most ran with 0.49) and then when electric came along that was the term coined for the motors that met with the ROAR regulations for the class as most...

Scratch building an RC stock car

I thought I would share a scratch build I am working on. RC Stock cars here in NZ are a full contact class based on the full size dirt oval stock cars (nothing like stock cars in the US!) There are some pretty good videos on YouTube showing this racing. Most run a modified Tamiya TT01 with aluminium...

Re: Server Funding Status

Due to the raffle, enough funds were generated to pay the hosting costs for an entire year!! :D

Anyone who wants to donate during that time still can. Say for example if you want to avoid seeing the ads.

Re: Resale profit margin

Your purpose for listing parts was to make them available to people that need them. Keeping them affordable seems like the nice thing to do for those needy people. Maybe when you come across auctions like this, you could create a similar auction that severely undercuts their price and in the text te...

Re: Resale profit margin

Stick with what you are doing Dadio, and don't let the money-hungry a$$hats get to you! With your creations, you are personally saving vintage RC cars! And ultimately, whether the end user spent $20 or $80 for your creation, it may very well have saved a car from getting tossed in the bin or parted ...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)

I went to a friend's place today to gather a Galaxy RS roll cage as my son would prefer a Galaxy instead of a Hunter... I'll need to model the Galaxy specific parts (shock stays, super structure and roll cage stays)... https://i.imgur.com/KvI276R.jpg And the Galaxy roll cage came with something else...

Re: Pan Curious

Have you thought about Bolink cars? RJ Speed currently makes a lot of the old Bolink platforms. A good deal of them are 1/12 scale and pretty easy on the wallet.

Re: Pan Curious

Running on a non prepped outdoor surface, it won’t be a lot of fun with a 1/12. My recommendation would be bumping up to a 1/10 scale and buy the CRC rubber tires. Then you have a chance at going fast and being able to drive it. Foam tires on unprepped asphalt just lead to chunking and lack of tract...
