It's clear to me that updating the firmware is a critical first step in my case and the printer will need to connect to the web to accomplish that step. At the moment, the printer is connected to my laptop via LAN-only mode. The QIDI is able to update Firmware from an SD card, do Bambu give you tha...
Apparently, the X1's firmware can be updated via SD but not the P1 -- at least not yet. Exiting LAN-only mode does not free-up access to the web. Bambu Support had me create a cfg file on the SD card that contains my LAN sign-in credentials. The printer reads the cfg upon boot-up and I no longer se...
The many added benefits of having a printer are slowly become apparent. For instance, the aluminum motor plate and mounting blocks require many precisely located screw holes so I quickly printed drill templates for these parts. transmission.jpg I simply glued the templates to the blanks and drilled ...
Your post got me curious so I went back and had another peek at my Scorcher. It looks like I've just mirrored the decal placement from driver side to passenger side. Not sure where I got those smaller Gumout stickers. P1010939.JPG Anyway, lacking any official right side boxart illustrations, we're o...
Yes, I bought the MCI set but I also have a stash of sticker sheet remnants going back 40+ years and some of those are from my original '80 Scorcher. That's probably where I found those Gumout decals.
Anyway, since they use only two colors, you could easily print smaller replacements.
How can I print decals? You mean pay a service to do that for me? Well, I guess you could unless you know someone who has a color LaserJet printer. I think you can take your files to the local Office Max/Depot and use their printers. I've used the office printer in the past to print a sheet of scal...
It was our office printer and I honestly can't recall any details about it. Anyway, I reckon almost any color printer will do the job. I've owned at least two cheap inkjet printers and they seem okay. I have an HP laserjet printer now but it isn't color so I'll probably go to Office Max for my color...
Another option for making custom decals and graphics is to use a vinyl cutter. A downside is the vinyl can be a little thicker than typical decal stock so probably not what you'll want for your small Gumout stickers. It works okay for larger one or two color decals. Since this was an unlicensed body...
Happy Thanksgiving all! I would be in Illinois today but my sweet momma turns 90 in a couple weeks so we've decided to skip the Thanksgiving gathering this year and make that long trip for her birthday gathering instead. Anyway, the neighbors have sent us a very nice care package for our lunch today...
A nice bit of detective work there. Thanks for posting the details. I don't recall seeing the small 506 as shown on the original box cover. FWIW, here are the decal sheet remnants from my original kit circa 1980: SS Decal sheet 1.jpg SS Decal sheet 2.jpg I don't believe a smaller version of 506 was ...
...Do you still have the box too? ... No, I'm an idiot! Sold the car and tossed the box. BITD, I didn't think any of this would become collectible or valuable. How cool would it be to have a 1:1 Scorcher to drive!! If I had Leno's money, I'd own at least one and a 1:1 Turbo Scorpion as well....
Every time I've seen the clear tail light lenses used, they've first had to dremel the opaque faux lens from the base. It seems that Tamiya should give you blank bases (with led receptacles) for use with the clear lenses but they don't. Anyway, I think the clear lenses are a 2010 re-release addition...
