Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Looks good.
I'm amazed you were able to foil the bumper in one piece. Nice! :)

'70 Challenger / Cuda

A new 1:8 scale Mopar from 3dsets:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OGjovd9Qbk

It's very tempting. I don't have a Mopar in the collection and the 1:8 F150 Raptor needs some company.
So many projects, so little time. :)

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

I'd probably just go with PLA since it's cheap and easy to print. ... then I'd need to be careful around curbs and lamp posts and avoid leaving it in the car during a hot summer day. I've had a look at the build manual and I am thoroughly impressed. The level of planning, design and engineering is r...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

The absorption rate for PLA does appear to be very low. Remnants from my first roll have been left in the printer for a couple months now and it's still pliable. I reckon it will make an acceptable print despite never have been dried. PLA, however, isn't easy to sand to remove layer lines. Could ABS...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Yes-sir, looks fantastic!! Every RC collection needs at least one Scorcher and yours is perfect.

BTW, considering the era this car came from, maybe your driver would be sitting on a stack of phone books?

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

... and unfortunately, I'll continue to derail this thread. The F100 pickup is only my second RC project using a printer so I'm still learning. One feature in Bambu Studio that I've started using with this project is adaptive layers. Parts on the left were printed with uniform layer heights (0...

Re: Laser cut metal gears?

Well, the stepper motor finally arrive and the autopsy revealed a 3-stage planetary set. Each gear set is 3.56:1 (the cube root of 45.2) so I've gone ahead and modified the transmission to use only one gear set: planetary gear set.JPG I needed to turn an input shaft, make a bearing carrier and a mot...

For this model and the Subaru Impreza by Casadio, https://youmagine.com/designs/1713ec98-35fa-4601-9032-bff7966fd1c3#top I really appreciate that they've created an inner (unibody) structure. https://youmagine.com/rails/active_storage/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBd2FFQkE9PSIsIm...

Re: Polycam - 3D Scanning

In the video attached, he had no trouble scanning the object in to Fusion, and using it to make a part with the correct dimensions. If no one has tried Polycam yet, I'll find a phone with LiDAR and give it a try. I believe it's worth trying. BTW, could you please post another link to that video? I ...

Re: Team Associated RC10 2025 Metallic

This one looks pretty good however, with the 40th, 10T, DS, Halsey and Team Car, I think they've covered all the bases so I'll skip this one.

Now, when (if) they offer a '91 Stealth, they will have my full attention - and my money.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

If this happens, I believe it will be a first for AE; offering a production version of an aftermarket conversion of their RC10. Today's AE is a different company so I guess anything's possible. What about the centro? I must admit that I'm not familiar with the Centro. Was it developed by others and...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

The more I think about this, the more angry I get.

Why didn't they reproduce the 4wd RC10 prototype that Jay raced at the World's?
At least that car has some connection with AE.

Well, they can keep it! No pre-order from me.

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

First few ABS parts have printed without a hitch. So far, so good. I've used PEI plate, ran filament calibration, used glue and a brim. No bed or layer adhesion problems. P1010076.JPG I did notice parts are easier to remove than with PLA on the high-tack cool plate. Anyway, on to the next set of par...
