Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
Those side by side comparison photos are very helpful, the cars appear to match perfectly – well, with one exception. Now, you just need to go out there and get it dirty! :D It’s been a very long road but the car has turned out great -- one of the most accurate replicas I've seen to date. Congratula...

Re: fab20VT' 1987 Javelin
Very nice. Has anybody ever thought about putting "Hemi" stickers on a Javelin? 8) Orange and Hemi just go hand-in-hand... I've never thought of that before but I think you're right -- even the Hemi's orange color is a very close match to the roll cage. hemilogo.jpg Anyway, the restoratio...

That's a very nice piece of engineering right there sandkill!
Toss in a battery and go for a drive.

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6
This is a very interesting build. Looking good so far Chuck.
That's a clever way to make a shock tower spacer. I'd probably tried to hack something out of aluminum - your way seems much better.
I guess it's early but have you given thought to which body you will use?

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6
Oops, sorry about that Chuck. Hey, could you please post a photo that shows the difference; "laydown" vs. "layback" - for us ole-timers who are unfamiliar with modern RC buggys? By chance do either of those configurations include two idlers? I've also noticed oval drive cu...

Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
I haven’t contributed anything to this message board in a while so I thought I’d post some pics of a newly completed 2019 TO re-release – for the one or two members out there who might be interested in seeing this car. P1010337.JPG P1010331.JPG P1010334.JPG P1010343.JPG Applying the window stickers ...

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
Even when I build a NIB kit, it doesn't turn out this clean. Nice work! Thanks! If I had a better camera, you would be able to see the flaws - there are many. But it helps when you have quality materials to work with. For instance, the mask sheet that comes in the kit looks like ordinary paper-base...

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
looking good despite the bigger bore shocks, the somewhat very-yellow gold ano, and those 2.2 rubber monstrosities  Thanks! I had the same impression when I first saw those pre-release photos; apart from the big wheels and big shocks it looks like the original car. Actually, the wheels are...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6
I tried something a little different. I used Birchwood Casey aluminum black on the areas I cut/trimmed. It looks fairly good. Particularly around the "squarish" trans opening. It doesn't wipe off with alcohol but it sure isn't as durable as anodize. Chuck Looks awesome Chuck. I'm curious ...

Longer rear shocks and threaded rod camber links, looks great.
On the "waiting list".

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
Thanks. I think you're going to enjoy building the car. Regarding the pinstripe, I haven't used this product before but this company sells 1/64" wide black striping tape. https://hobbymasters.com/line-o-tape-pinstriping-tapes/ The black stripe that's included with the TO's decal set is about .5...

Re: Turbo Optima 2019 re-release in “boring” box art colors
Thanks Keith.
I think you're right about the bumper...
Kyosho packs both bumpers in the box so you won't need to choose.
The bigger bumper definitely makes the car look more vintage. Now, if I could only do something about those hideous tires....

Re: Turbo Ultima rebuild
I've had some time over the weekend to finish assembling the rear suspension. P1010469.JPG P1010470.JPG P1010472.JPG P1010474.JPG P1010480.JPG P1010482.JPG Here’s the body with paint. Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
XLR8 So I am curious. How was the quality of the Penguin body? Does it look as though there was a fair amount of foreign debris on the mold causing small bumps? I haven"t peeled back the overspray film to see if the bumps on my Protech show through. Still have more painting to go. Chuck Receiv...

Re: rc10 help needed
Hello and welcome to the forums. It's difficult to see the tranny in your photos but it appears that your car is an earlier RC10 and likely has a 6-gear transmission. Go here to see the full history. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13059 It doesn't appear to be heavily modified so ...
