Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Today I created an anti roll bar mount to use the rear anti roll bar on the front of the Yokomo dogfighter 834b , no new screw holes needed but sadly it will only work with the ReRe as there's not space under the top deck/chain guide on the original. Kyosho Nitro Thrasher

In 1992 Kyosho debuted a new 1/10 4wd Nitro powered Monster Truck they dubbed, the Nitro Thrasher. Rather than build upon the previous Nitro Brute chassis Kyosho took a more 1/8 USA-1/Burns approach to the 1/10 Thrasher by basing it off their GP-10 4wd nitro platform. As a result, the Thrasher hit t...

Re: Rc10 Sprints...what do I have here?

I raced a BBT a few times bitd. Racing RC sprint cars was tremendous fun but eventually I sold that car and very much regret it. The aluminum parts were polished with a red body and wing and chrome wheels. My dad loved that car and I should have given it to him. :( Anyway, I got an Ascot kit in a tr...

Re: Kyosho Nitro Thrasher

My first hobby grade R/C! :D If it wasn't such a great truck, there's a chance I'd have soured on the hobby, and RC10Talk would no longer exist today as a result. It had a few small faults though as the centers of the wheels broke easily under nitro power, and the bell crank steering components were...

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!

The pull start kills those, the header won't clear it and you would need the tall engine mounts for pull start. I did just send them an email coincidentally asking if they would want to make the K&B available with no pull start. The K&B are still made in the USA and the quality is pretty good.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!

In the meantime I ordered up a small block no pull start and crank Force 15 from AliExpress. They have some coupons available that will vary for buyers. In the past Force were pretty decent, Ofna used to distribute them. Edit, sounds like force is done now so might not be a good viable option past t...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I drilled out a set of Factory Works outdrives to fit my Trackmaster. The carbide drill bit was definitely necessary.

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!

It's stupidly simple too, they sell an airplane version of the engine that could be fitted with the carburator (need the 45⁰ needle valve) and the machined cooling head, or take the car engine they sell and swap the crank and backplate. Either way, it would be a crazy easy way to sell engines.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2025 ** - Winner - coxbros1

This is my tribute build to the Original Racing Master 956 as featured in the 1985 Tamiya Guide Book. This car and the Toyota Toms 84c highlighted 1/12 on road racing in that book. I have the Toms on the RM2 chassis, but they’ve become so expensive so went looking for something also that I could fit...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2025 ** - Winner - coxbros1

This is sort of a What's old is new but also a ReRe , this definitely could have been done and is inspired by the A+L trailing arm conversions , it uses ReRe Kyosho Scorpion rear trailing arms mounted to the back of a Yokomo 834b ReRe . This allows some camber change as the wheel rises plus a little...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2025 ** - Winner - coxbros1

An insane Drillinator got his tools on this pitful Yoke. I would love to know if this was done intentionally. Or is this neighbour's revenge after fighting his dog too hard? I never will find out because this Fighter came to me already mistreated in 2018. I jazzed it up with nice electronics. World ...
