Re: Fan RC is up to something Big

Damn. If they build that, I will have to buy one. I'm helpless against the CC Worlds kits. I just love how they look. It would be fun to actually have one to run. Lavigna is talking about Composite Craft, not Clear Classic Worlds Kit. Yes. Good catch. I'm used to using CC for Composite Craft since ...

Tell me again about how we cant afford to produce RC parts in the USA anymore...

We cant always find lightbulbs from a USA manufacturer, or even vitamin C lol, but we CAN buy RC parts from the few USA manufacturers left often for the same or less than the china stuff. Not always, but often. How many people look to see where their pinion gear comes from? Buy that RPM gear cover, ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I have a weakness for orange can, square label Race Prep mod motors. Especially when its going for a cheap price.

Re: Euope/FR - La Montluçonnaise 2025 "D Systems" - May 8-11

I think I'll just leave everything packed up from Montlucon, throw it back in the car in June and head straight for Beleysanne!!!! My regret from this past weekend was not spending more time looking at all the cars you brought Trass.....the collection is amazing and I'll be sure to pass your table ...

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread

I needed another summer project like I needed another hole in my head, but this made its way to my driveway last week. This is what you get when you are too lazy to take the canoe out anymore. :D The trailer should be worth what I paid for combo, and it actually has a title, so I put new lights on i...

Re: Robb's Bolink Invader #2 & #3

Got the electronics in the pan car this evening. The BEC and wire shortening made all the difference in the world in making this all fit under the body. Body posts and mounting will be the next step for #2.

Re: Tell me again about how we cant afford to produce RC parts in the USA anymore...

Any USA bearing or wire sources? Is Boca, ACER, AVID? They're all just distributers for Chinese manufactured bearings as far as I'm aware. There are USA manufactures that make bearing sizes we use in R/C but are very few. With the two puller projects I have in the works, my intent is to use as many...

Re: Tell me again about how we cant afford to produce RC parts in the USA anymore...

I'm happy to say two of my racing bicycles(cross country hardtail and road racer) are made here in my home town of Portland, OR. The parts on them are not made here. But that's okay. I really like how the RC companies mentioned above have continued to follow their passions. CRC is one of my favorite...

Cheater Stock Motors

The tamper resistant, throw away aspect of earlier stock motors was always frustrating. A couple of motors in my collection are from people that must have had the same frustration. One is an older yokomo based build, the other a Speedworks Joel Johnson. The JJ is nicely done with bearings added and ...

Re: Tell me again about how we cant afford to produce RC parts in the USA anymore...

You can get stupid with bearings... from full ceramic (case and balls) at about $40 to silicone nitride full compliment ABEC 5 jobs for about $90 a piece just for 3/16x3/8's. Unfortunately, like lowgear said, the name on the box doesn't equate to quality, and even then it's a matter of what a person...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Got another unpainted body in the post today..... an ABC Hobby Datsun 1600 / SSS / P510. Sized for a Mini chassis, so will have to sort out something suitable.

Now to work out a good paint scheme!
