Noob

Hello all! After being out of the hobby since the early 90’s I just recently got back in…got tired of paying $50-75 for the junk cars at Walmart and my boys destroying them in a couple of weeks so I bit the bullet…all 5 of my boys got 1/10 hobby cars for Christmas…and after catching some flak from t...

Re: Noob

It wasn’t cheap but I wouldn’t consider it terribly expensive either…I got them rtr cars at about $200 a piece…of course then I had to buy fast chargers and extra batteries on top of that but cars ain’t fun if you have to charge them for 8 hours to run 15-20 minutes either…granted I gave a bit more ...

Yea I realize the clod ain’t got a snowballs chance…but if I can get a little more out of it maybe I can prevent it from becoming the victim of a demo derby when my boys decide to gang up on ol dad…

Re: Any Super Bowl Predictions?

I’m not a football fan or sports as a whole for that matter. It has to have tits or drink gasoline to get my attention. That being said I’ve always rooted for the Bengals since I was a kid but they were always the worst team.

Re: Masking curved pin striping lines

Yeah I know, 2014, old thread, yadda yadda.. ..but I’m glad I landed on this it’s really helped me out, awesome, always something to learn on here, loving it. To follow along, basically apply a thin layer of clear paint, then paint over that? The clear is to lock in the edge…personally I pref...

Re: Tamiya Blackfoot build and modification tips for you

Nice write up!!! Been a while since I had a Blackfoot but it’s a fun little truck…if you drop the size of your pinion it’ll wheelie quite easily as well but don’t do a lot for speed however it’s a ball to play with…

Re: Making a carbon fiber chassis the novice way

[/quote] I'm trying to learn a new skill and see how I do just for the fun of it . I don't know if I will make anything that would be strong enough to drive, or good looking enough to put on a shelf. I've already learned a bit and very much appreciate professionally made carbon fiber pieces. Fiber r...

Re: Brushed motors display stand

Eventually I too would like to display my motors, I’ve always wondered if a Hot Wheels/ Matchbox wall display case would work out nicely. I do plan on finding out. Figured maybe use clear cabinet door bump stops to keep them from rolling out when the case is opened. 4E617FD8-3833-4E4B-A13F-A34954A8...

Re: Making a carbon fiber chassis the novice way

I took my time with the tape making sure it laid down flat, and that each layer overlapped the last but the inside wasn’t bad at all. You’ll get a little transfer on your edges but nothing bad as long as you get the tape to lay flat. I’m told aluminum foil will work also but I wasn’t brave enough to...

Re: New project

I have a few questions…first is what’s the cage made of? Looks to be either 1/16” or 1/8” round bar…secondly are you brazing it? I originally thought tig but the color has me thinking braze…lastly would you be interested in doing another one of those motors?

Re: Resale profit margin

Seller of the chain sprockets has taken down the auction , makes me wonder if he is a member here and saw he's selling the wrong part , don't like thinking one of our members is such a to$$er :!: If that’s the case and we find out who…is a flogging in order or a straight out lynching? I would certa...
