Re: RC10 Tekin active link mid motor conversion with SACS front suspension
The SACS front end is brilliant in its simplicity. :D Reviews are mixed on whether it improved performance on the tracks of the day, but it definitely did function as designed. It was standard on my Cougar 2000 (a 95 Team car, iirc), but I was not qualified to judge its effectiveness. I hit the wall...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
I too am guilty of this. I wasn't very discerning of mechanical features at that point. I remember thinking the Bullet was like getting an RC10 with all of the latest hop ups already installed. Gold chassis = RC10, and all of the differences were improvements. I also believed the mislead...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Edit: I did also get a set of the wide front wheels and a pair of Schumacher Mini Dart 2.2 tires, front & rear. Excellent choice. You said "gentle runner", so it may not matter, but I have found Mini Darts to work very well on my dirt/grass track. I've run them on all of my Schuey bug...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
8. No Traxxas Bashing. This is the Traxxas online community for Traxxas enthusiasts. It will naturally have a pro-Traxxas bias. It’s simple. If you don’t like Traxxas and wish to discredit us with your misinformed rants and opinions, then don’t be a member of our community. Your posts will not be t...

Re: RC Fest Tuscola IL
Hmmmm. It is only a ~4 hour drive...will have to look into it. The link is blocked at work
so I can't see the details. Thanks for posting this! I hadn't heard of it.

Re: What in the R/C would you do?
I would "loosen" the tracks resulting in lower corner speeds and cars sliding around. This promotes passing. Passing (or at least trying to pass) is racing. I am not a fan of what (to me) is just processional Formula 1 with hills. I tried watching EFRA (I am a Schumacher fan and they compe...

Re: 60th Anniversary Joel Johnson Ultima?!?!
Very cool! I’ve just finished up my replica Magnificent! Curious, how do you feel about this re-re? You did all of the hard work to recreate the legend, and now any idiot with a credit card (me, for example) can have one. On a serious note, from what you can see in the photos, how accurate is the r...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2023 ** - Winner - juicedcoupe
Dinglem scared everyone away. Right now he is probably just waiting for the Loctite to dry on an AYK prototype raced by Jesus in the Olympics. This is my original Top Cat I bought new and re-acquired recently. I present it not as a "great build", but as a great experience- i.e. finding and...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2023 ** - Winner - juicedcoupe
Juicedcoupe is running away with it, which, coincidentally, is what juiced coupes did on the streets back in my day.

Re: Spaceframe Chassis for Hotshot
That is great! You transformed it! The bathtub is what makes so many Tamiya buggies seem toy-like compared to the "real" racers.
Honestly though, my lazy @$$ would have just bought a Javelin

Re: Hi or Low Wings ?
I thought this was going to be about airplanes
I clicked on it, all prepared to talk about the stability and easy controls of a high wing vs the maneuverability and performance of a low wing.
For buggies, I suppose I prefer low wing, but it is really determined by the body.
