Re: Did you ever or do you race now?

Started racing in Jan 1992 (Walts indoor Clay Classic) 70th out of 71! Second to last overall with a brand new 7001 10T and only beat a Kyosho Big Brute lol. Raced indoor clay oval and carpet oval in the winter, outdoor offroad in the summer. In my 20's I was a full ride dirt oval guy, designed and ...

Re: Did you ever or do you race now?

I started racing in 1991 with my Team Losi Junior-T. Dirt oval truck class. Added a graphite team car in 1992 to also race EDM. Also raced 1/10 oval pan and a little 1/12 on-road. Later in the 90's I got a Losi S.W. and a TC3 and did a small amount of touring car racing. I stopped racing in 2002. I ...

Re: Did you ever or do you race now?

 It was depressing, really. I simply cannot jump the car. I don't know what the problem is. O You're not alone, though I find offroad more "fun" it is not lost on me my most successful races have been onroad series (specfically outdoor asphalt). Also could have been fact it was TT02 ...

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)

coxbros1 got the Futaba rewired. He's a lot cleaner than I am at stuff like this. I'll pick it up at the next Jasonfest in a couple of weeks. This unit is exactly my first esc I ever owned and this seems like a good excuse to clean it up properly. Should work fine for the set up I'll have in this B3.

Re: NEOTRX-1

Orange and purple stuff. 8) Novak.jpg Novak ESC with cans. Not enough orange! ESC.jpg All this wiring for damn brushless? Motor.jpg Front width with the DT02 wheels is around 254mm. I have some BMAX2 wheels that take a 5x10mm bearing that I'll try. Rear width is 245mm with the Yokomo setup. Seeing o...

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread

Does anyone else spend time on vacation looking for RCs? Or is vacation time meant for being away from RCs also :?: I am always on the look out, and love looking in new places. I won't interrupt the vacation much, but I do look. If I find something, I try to line up a deal first thing in the morning...

Schumacher CAT XL 2WD (T402) for vintage racing

Even though I’ve been lurking around with CATs since autumn 1986, I’ve not come around to post a build of one of my absolute favourite rc platforms on RC10talk – HIGH TIME! Of course many threads on here from before, but here goes my own take on a CAT. Hopefully contributing to the information alrea...

Re: Schumacher CAT XL 2WD (T402) for vintage racing

Yes indeed. Hardly saw the 2WD on tracks back in the eighties, but it will be interesting to see how it performs on tight high grip tracks. That’s why I wanted to take on this particular build, and there are some specific assets to the XL from the XLS I want to investigate on the track. I'll come to...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?

Finally joining the club. Found a goldpan around the $150 mark that hasn't been swiss cheesed. Couldn't pass it up.

Re: Legendary series Optima Pro

I wanted to do something similar to box art but change it up by scanning the factory decals and using different colors for the stripes. In the end I took the easy road using single color paint and I dug up some extra Tomahawk decals I had laying around. 20241004_185420.jpg 20241004_185457.jpg 202410...

Re: Schumacher CAT XL 2WD (T402) for vintage racing

The side plates for the gearbox (T072 Cover plate and T073 Motor plate) are generation tell offs, and can also reveal the upgrade history of a CAT. However, the part numbers for the plates were the same for SWB, XL, XLS and Procat. The holes inside the green markings are for mounting the upper rear ...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

On my way to work. I found it interesting because you don't generally see fog so isolated to one area around here. I assume the fields down there were releasing moisture during the dramatic temperature swings we get this time of year. But what do I know, I'm no Scientician.
