Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide

I know there are holes in the list, but we can continue to build on this as we go. It's fairly comprehensive thus far, so hopefully this can help those of you who are looking for the general information on these motors. Feel free to offer corrections or other part numbers with corresponding motor sp...

Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors

This is where I'm headed , wire management still needs work and the old battery was going flat , the push on sensor disk stayed put perfectly . https://i.imgur.com/KdWaqAMl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/aSkCCEdl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/teltudGl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/cbFg4pvl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/rF4P...

Re: Cam Motor Recently Purchased

The only info I can find is that it's supposedly a 12T. I couldn't find any concrete proof to verify it.

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

I'd avoid the WD40. It is not a lubricant, but it will displace your oil and/or grease. If people used it correctly, most would never own a can.

After I cleaned and lubricated my lathe, I just use air duster to clean it after use.

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

A toothbrush and WD40 will get all the grease and dirt off your parts as quickly and efficiently as anything. Then, wipe off and re-lubricate any bearings or moving parts. It's true that WD40 is not a lubricant, and most people have the mistaken idea that it is...but to get rid of moisture, dirt, oi...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

I live on the coast and have fished my whole life, and WD40 is the bane of the fishing world. That stuff has been the downfall of so many reels that its ridiculous. My dad is a constant offender here. I once got a smoking deal on a Shimano Calcutta Conquest on ebay because it was making some noise. ...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

We can agree on WD40 being mis-marketed and used as a lubricant, but for everything else--degreasing, removing water, adhesive removal, as a light penetrant or general cleaning--it's fantastic. I suppose the caveat would be, if you use WD40, be sure to relubricate after use. For the record, I would ...

Re: Trinity Tru Lathe

Let me be clear, I don't disagree that it can be useful. As with many things, the biggest problem is that people misuse it.

I also have a couple big cans, aerosol and liquid. Both are also several years old. Its just that anything that you would use it for, I have other products that I prefer.

Re: Motors Storage

This is a good question and it does depend on a few factors really. What kind of a condition are your motors in and how have they been stored previously? Will you be getting them rebuilt and the magnets addressed prior to storage and will you be potentially using them in the future? I guess what I a...
