Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build

Are you going to run it or will it be a shelf queen? I just built a 40th gold pan just finished it and haven’t ran it yet.

Re: Kyosho Nitro Lineup 1993

That's more of the point I was making, that with the Burns to Inferno evolution, the USA-1 NC similarly evolved and used MP-5 compatible parts. I still have the steel gear kit for the USA-1 NC, which were all MP-5/Burns parts from the period. Ah, I get what you're sayin'. Yeah, gears, universals, d...

Re: Jammin Jay RC10

The Jammin Jay Halsey edition is done! The final bits came in the mail yesterday. The Yokomo wing buttons. I did use transparent double sided tape on the wing for a cleaner look. This was a good build. Lots of metal work and small details to address. Some appeared under the build when you really stu...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build

Got one of the knockoffs drilled and tapped. The tap size is M3.5 x 6. But once I finally got the threads in, I noticed the axles are too long. Will cut the front axle stubs down about an 1/8". Have a backup pair of axles, in case I ruin this somehow. Was gonna say the hex being visi...

'70 Challenger / Cuda

A new 1:8 scale Mopar from 3dsets:

It's very tempting. I don't have a Mopar in the collection and the 1:8 F150 Raptor needs some company.
So many projects, so little time. :)

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

I'd probably just go with PLA since it's cheap and easy to print. ... then I'd need to be careful around curbs and lamp posts and avoid leaving it in the car during a hot summer day. I've had a look at the build manual and I am thoroughly impressed. The level of planning, design and engineering is r...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

The absorption rate for PLA does appear to be very low. Remnants from my first roll have been left in the printer for a couple months now and it's still pliable. I reckon it will make an acceptable print despite never have been dried. PLA, however, isn't easy to sand to remove layer lines. Could ABS...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Yes-sir, looks fantastic!! Every RC collection needs at least one Scorcher and yours is perfect.

BTW, considering the era this car came from, maybe your driver would be sitting on a stack of phone books?

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

The details for the parts I was working with, are what PETG was not looking as good compared to PLA for. Be that moisture, or whatever you want to attribute that to, I didn't require strength for that project, just the level of detail. PLA was better in that case. Again, it may linked with both exp...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda

The QIDI Plus 4 uses smaller notched belts to drive the hotend, so it's able to print in finer resolution than most 3D printers, at this moment in history (everyone will be doing it soon and better too). And I'm derailing the thread again  But just wanted to say, it's an interesting topic. I w...
