Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda
... and unfortunately, I'll continue to derail this thread. The F100 pickup is only my second RC project using a printer so I'm still learning. One feature in Bambu Studio that I've started using with this project is adaptive layers. Parts on the left were printed with uniform layer heights (0...

In 1995 Kyosho unveiled their latest 1/8 nitro powered 4wd Inferno off-road racing buggy, the MP-5. Starting out as the Burns MP-1 in 1987, which stood for "Model Project #1", and moving to the Inferno name with the MP-3 in 1991, the latest car, now in its fifth generation, represented an ...

Re: 3d Printer recommendations
For me, I like my Bambu X1C's. They have ran flawlessly for me. GreenBaron is getting great prints off his Qidi Plus4 as well but I dont think they have released their multi material system yet. Prusa are also very solid choices, more expensive but a long history of quality. Those are the 3 I would ...

Re: '70 Challenger / Cuda
For this model and the Subaru Impreza by Casadio, https://youmagine.com/designs/1713ec98-35fa-4601-9032-bff7966fd1c3#top I really appreciate that they've created an inner (unibody) structure. https://youmagine.com/rails/active_storage/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBd2FFQkE9PSIsIm...

Re: Polycam - 3D Scanning
In the video attached, he had no trouble scanning the object in to Fusion, and using it to make a part with the correct dimensions. If no one has tried Polycam yet, I'll find a phone with LiDAR and give it a try. I believe it's worth trying. BTW, could you please post another link to that video? I ...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider
Yes, Tamiya changes the front tyres slightly on the re-re kits, and as a result, omitted the labelling. There was a vendor on ebay re-producing the correct tyres a few years ago, I used them on my original restoration and they are perfect copies IMO. Maybe search there to start https://live.staticfl...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
I've saved the largest and most complex parts for last on this project. This bed side required 11-1/2 hours to print -- but I think it was worth the time. With layer height set to 0.08mm, the layer lines are almost non-existent. A few passes with some 380 grit paper and they're gone. I probably coul...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Those 5-lugs look great.
I can't get over how much your silver filament parts look like die cast aluminum.
I know you're building this for display, are you planning to paint anything or just leave it natural? Just curious.

AE RC10 4wd .step files
Obviously not from AE, these were taken from the parts as I built the kit. If anyone wants to play with them, here ya go. Probably not 100%, but should be a real good start. These measurements taken from the kit parts, and have not been adjusted at all for 3d printing. You may need to open up holes,...

Re: Best Liquid Mask product?
If you don't end up liking the proline liquid mask try the bitty design. Out of all the current liquid mask available i find it the most forgiving.

Re: Best Liquid Mask product?
generally you mask the entire body with it as any area that the masking is applied too thin is going to be annoying to peel. I use BittyDesign now works great. I haven't used Proline but I hear it's good. I, however, am never using Spaz Stix ever again. That stuff seems to react to my paints and bec...
